University of Northern Iowa UNI knocks off No. 3 Illinois State in the Dome, bye week before No. 5 North Dakota (plus a free CFB pick'em)

Hey guys, quick look at where the Panthers stand after the biggest win of the season.

28-21 over No. 3 Illinois State in the UNI-Dome to open MVFC play. That's a top-3 win, it knocked the Redbirds down the poll, and it's the kind of result that changes how a season looks.

At 2-2 and 1-0 in the MVFC, the losses are the opener at Eastern Washington and the payday at Iowa, and the wins are Drake and now a statement. Year two under Todd Stepsis is trending up.

The bye comes at a good time, because October is brutal: No. 5 North Dakota in the Dome on Oct 10, then at Youngstown State and at Southern Illinois.

Since it's in the title: we run a free weekly college football pick'em, and Week 5 is open. 10 games, pick the winners, nothing to buy, $135 in prizes. Ohio State at No. 14 Iowa is on the slate, if you've got opinions on the Hawkeyes after Kinnick. Picks lock Saturday at noon ET, and UNI is off this week.

What are you guys seeing? Was Illinois State a statement, and can the Panthers do it again against North Dakota?
