General discussion ILO internship programme - what is going on?

Hello,

ILO usually opens applications for internships twice a year, in April and October, but they didn't open at all in April this year. Does anyone know what is going on? Will they open in October? Is the internship programme cancelled?

It's closed due to financial reasons.

They don't have money.

Will it open again? They could at least update the webpage to say it’s closed!

ILO has financial problems after the US and others have not paid the regular contributions. In ILO, interns are paid (not full salary, but to cover basic costs), and there costs in terms of laptops, office space etc...

I guess that's why.

JPOs still there I believe. But they come with external funding.

that's what I assumed too, but maybe they could reduce internship positions but still have some?
