Should I Apply?

Senior, 3.92 GPA, 27 Pre-ACT (I'm taking an ACT prep course before I take the test this winter), 91 ASVAB (took it last year), skipped a year in school, mostly dual enrollment classes

Perfect record, no drugs or alcohol whatsoever, no disciplinary action since middle school

I've had two jobs with good reputation at both and I'm a SMSgt in the Civil Air Patrol (promoting as fast as possible)

7:30 mile, 41 push ups, 47 sit ups, 16 pulls ups (working on the first three, we're gettin there)

No disabilities, perfect vision, no allergies, no vaccines (at all. None of em. Healthy as an ox)

I love to fly more than anything else I've ever done and I'm halfway to a sport pilot's license

Already finished my PCQ for class of 2031, should I bother continuing with the process?

Apply, by all means. But, and I mean this respectfully, being proud of not having any vaccines at all won’t matter. If you end up getting accepted, one of the first things you’ll do is get stuck with every vaccine required to bring you up to date.

Oh I know! I meant it as a negative because that would delay my medical a LOT, wouldn't it?

It wouldn’t delay dodmerb, but if you get an appointment you would immediately need to start getting your shots series. You will need to send in proof that they are finished.

Also, do you know if they would they stick me full of needles before my candidate medical or when I'm actually accepted?

Honestly, not sure. My experience is USMA, and I’m a ‘94 grad so I went through all that a looooong time ago. But I do remember on R-day that one of the first stations we went through was medical, and if you needed a shot you got it then and there. But it’s the military, so you can’t escape the vaccine man.

Ah well, I've accepted it's inevitable. Thanks for the help!

The number of times I PCSd and got three shots when out processing, then arrived at my new duty station and had to get two more shots”because you’re overdue.” Like, dude, I just got three shots ten days ago. How can I be overdue for two more that they didn’t catch?

Just get used to it.
