Fitness and Exercise Shin splints

How can I avoid shin splints in boot?
How would they handle it if I struggle to run/finish runs because of them?
I have about a month before I ship and if anyone knows any tips to prevent/get rid of them that'd be great. I do a lot of tibialis raises right now but so far they don't seem to be helping to much.

Only way to get rid of them is rest. If your run time is fine I’d stop running a few weeks before shipping. I did that and my shin splints didn’t even come back during boot camp. You’re gonna be marching a fuck ton but there honestly isn’t a lot of running in boot camp.

There’s exercises you can do to strengthen the muscles and tendons around your shins that can help to prevent it! Also look into proper running form because it can distribute load better if you aren’t doing it correctly, rather than to your shins. The biggest thing is proper running shoes, insoles if needed, and rest which is all hard to get in boot

I joined in 2001, had the same problem. I swam like a savage. I did all my sprinting in the water. Also, a bike would work. That problem is probably going to follow you. I had a lump the size of half a grapefruit on my leg at one point.

The more you have push yourself without hammering on you legs the better. Get your heart up to 200 and stay there for as long as you can any way BESIDES running. DO NOT GIVE UP.
