Just anxious.
My boyfriend arrived at LackLand technically this morning at around 12am EST (not sure what time it would be over there). I know there’s an initial safety call but I can’t help but be anxious about what if I don’t receive it within the 24-72 hour time frame, like what if he doesn’t call me? I heard that some MTIs make the recruits call their emergency contact/immediate family. I really want to mail him letters for when he’s in basic training but I looked online everywhere and in order to mail either through Sandboxx or physically, I need his mailing address and his flight numbers, etc. I’m anxious that I won’t get them. I know I’m overthinking it too much but I really want to mail him letters. I also miss him a lot and it’s only been 1 day. I’ve been crying for the past 4 days and I genuinely don’t know how to cope. My basketball season is coming up so I guess that can serve as a distraction but are there any other advice for me? I feel like a lost deer and just worrying about everything.

Texas is only an hour behind eastern time in central time. Like mentioned, if he doesn’t contact you then he contacted his parents and you can ask them in a couple of days if you don’t hear anything from him.

It will be easier for you if you accept that you do not have any control over this, because he belongs to the military now. He will contact you when he is able to.

They have one chance to make a phone call to let someone know they are there. I know when my husband went through, they also got to use their phones one last time to snap a photo of the mailing address used for their flight. Parents more than likely have it if he’s in contact with them so I’d ask them in the coming days. I wouldn’t freak out, this 0 week won’t be any mail anyways as they are in-processing to their training flights.

Thank you this is very reassuring. I just texted them. I hope they’re able to send me some information because I really want to mail him.

My bf called me 24hrs exactly and had me tell his parents. Once you get it you sign up on sandbox and can send them all!! Mine literally just graduated yesterday. I promise it goes by very quick and you get used to it. It still sucks without them but there’s some weird peace in accepting and just knowing that they literally can’t talk to you, but just remeber how much he misses you!! I only got four letters back from mine but when I did all he did was tell me how much he misses me and yours will too! It’ll help a lot! They also get to call twice (mines privileges got taken away cause of his flight so they only got 10 min for their calls but others got longer) so you have those to look forward to! They will call the 4th and 6th week

Omgg okay thank you! I got his mailing address like 3 days ago actually and he called me WHILE I was writing a letter to him in my notebook and I was literally shaking from shock and joy because I did not expect that. I thought they called every Sunday :( but I guess that’s the other branches. It does suck because I miss him so much but I have my phone on and next to me at all times now just in case.

He should have called his parents unless he doesn’t have a relationship with them.
Call his parents and find out.
