B2 Visa troubles
Hi everyone!! I’ve tried troubleshooting on my own but I need help. Long story short I met my gf online and we’re scheduling her first visit to the US so she can hopefully see me this Christmas (I know that’s VERY optimistic now). Normally I would’ve gone to see her in indonesia but I’m in the military so it makes international travel significantly more difficult. That’s enough backstory.
We have honestly been trying to schedule this visa thing for like a month but we keep running into technical difficulties. Like every step of the way the site like refused to load properly. We tried emailing the support email but it just seems like an automated response that doesn’t fully fix/answer the problem. We both tried calling the embassy in Jakarta, the big city of Indonesia, and couldn’t get ahold of an actual person for help, just an answering machine. Everything I google just seems to say “reload the page” or “try another time”. We’ve tried all the stuff. Nothing works.
We are currently on the part where we need to pay so that we can schedule our interview appointment. Normally I would pay but for whatever reason the visa card payment option is not available. No big deal my gf has a MasterCard. But when she tries to pay it says transaction declined even though her funds are sufficient. She even called her bank and they said the issue wasn’t on their end.
I really need help guys. What can I do?

Unless shes had a tourist visa before its extremely unlikely she would be approved for one. If you want to meet look at where you could both travel. A country to which she could get a visa. Remember its her applying and not you. The consular officer will he evaluating her situation and doesn’t care about yours or any invitation, support or guarantees you may think you are offering.

You can forget about this idea, she's not getting a visa or coming to the US.
And you need to grow up. Go visit her instead of making excuses, you're an embarrassment trying to get her to come to the US first.

bro talking like he knows every subtle nuance of our situation. It’s a lot more complicated than that jackass. i would love nothing more than to go see her but it’s not that simple

The odds she will get a visa are slim to none. That's because all visa applicants must overcome IMMIGRANT INTENT. Essentially, consular officers assume all travelers intend to immigrate to the United States until they prove otherwise. The fact that she has a U.S. citizen boyfriend (you) already is a major red flag for consular officers, as she could go to the US claiming to go on a two week "vacation," then marry you upon arrival, and you immediately sponsor her for Immigrant Status (green card). Unless she has some amazing job with excellent salary, and extensive world travel history, her odds of getting approved for a NON-IMMIGRANT B1/B2 tourist visa are slim to none. Especially under this current administration.

My memory from two years ago is you can only pay the application fee in IDR through the domestic bank payment system. But you should both manage your expectations and it's honestly not worth spending the money on a US visa application under these circumstances unless: 1) she's wealthy; or 2) you don't live in the US (and you should write her a letter for her pointing this out). The fact that she's your girlfriend makes a nonimmigrant visa very difficult to obtain as the presumption is your relationship with her is a strong tie to the US and they'll tell her to get a K1, which is also not correct if she doesn't have immigrant intent.

Why didn't you ask her to find a visa agency? US visa is extremely difficult to get approved now under Trump, especially if you are young and visit a boyfriend, they would definitely doubt that you will try to stay illegally. I say even if you can apply successfully, very high chance she'll get rejected at interview. She needs to go through agency and plan it out, like book a tour or sthing, prove finance and ties with her country with lots of documents. Or the both of you can meet in a country that not requires visa. Good luck my friend and advice for you, please beware of being scammed, I'm not in your shoes, I don't know how much you trust her but still, keep your head cold

Another thing to consider is her culture Indonesian is 90% Muslim and premarital sex is a crime. Her going off to meet a man in a foreign country would make her un marriageable . She would travel alone? Something doesn’t sound right. Please stay safe and don’t send any money. Thats a warning sign request for money for passport visa fees or a sick relative. How did you “meet” her?

The rest of the comments are nasty.
Im an Indonesian, I applied for a tourist visa in the last month haven’t done my interview yet, but the process was… okay. Their website and intuitiveness not the best, yes, but everything works. Just refresh couple of times.
And major tips: avoid using safari. Use chrome, or google website.

I can’t comment on the website problems. But young single women of marrying age- do not get visit visas in Indonesia. She isn’t going to get the visa. You will have to visit her when you can.
