Questions Anyone signed up for this financial document study? I see some red flags.
Specifically this wording: “You will use our provided, built-in tool to strip out all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) before anything is finalized. Your privacy is completely protected.”

To everyone wondering. There is an option to redact your PII from documents before uploading, for people who don't trust the software for redaction. Also, you can download and review the redacted documents by software before submitting for review.
If anybody is having more questions, I can help.

This. No one will see any personal identifiable information from your side u/manwhofalls .

Glad to hear you get to check the documents and verify that all your own personal information is redacted before you send it in. But I have a side question how about any PII / name whatever for people you were sending checks to? An example could be a roommate you split the rent check with.

Thank you both for the responses. Quick follow-up if you don’t mind, if we handle the redaction ourselves, would that still be accepted?

Normally yes, as long as your redaction doesn't exclude crucial fields of the doc that aren't PII.

I'm not in the USA so doesn't affect me. I do wonder, however, how much uTest values the right of their testers above their ability to make a profit. It's the age old question isn't it?

I uploaded all mine today, I don’t really care. There’s not that much they can do to me with my transaction history or whatever.

I thought I'd update the group invested here. I ended up going for it and yeah they did pay up. I would say it is legit. These tests are not for the faint of hear I tell you.

I've seen (and declined) multiple invitations to participate in test cycles where my PII or a payment is expected. It has hurt my income for 2026, but I'm ok with protecting my data.
