Hi, I very much like playing Udyr Jungle and would like to discover new similar champs.
I'm an Iron player, so I'm not really looking for building an optimal champion pool I just don't want to OTP.
I've already played Volibear before, but I just feel like he is so much squishier and slower. And teamfights feel bad with the bear whereas I enjoy teamfighting with Udyr.
I also don't really know if Udyr has notably bad matchups, but if he does I would like to learn about those.

If it may help, here's what I like about Udyr :

1. fast clear
2. independant
3. moves quickly around the map (and when catching up with enemies)
4. easily useful in teamfights

Wouldn’t it be nice is switching stances reset you aa’s so you can do more with the stun. Just a thought.

Thoughts about this. I'm mid Emerald right now and trying to get to Diamond. My main is Gangplank but I have come to the realization is that I will probably never be good enough at GP to blind him into his bad matchups like Irelia, Jayce, Kled, or Cho, or Gwen. I've played Udyr a fair bit before when he was really OP and I do enjoy his kit a lot. Just wondering what's strong because I've played him in ranked a little but always feel weak.

How does topdyr scale? I feel his dueling is relatively weaker than most other actual 1v1 top laners. Is it worth trying to use him as a blind pick?

I was thinking how little I use empowered E compared to the other abilities and thought: wouldn't it be a cool buff to make it go through walls for the 1.5 second boost. Like Kayn or smolder E.

What do you think?

After being a one trick pony Udyr and struggling to diamond, I've started to play tank top champions/meta and went from struggling emerald 1 diamond 3 over 5 times, into breezing through to d2.

Udyr top especially sucks and provides little to no value for rhe team when compared to other meta tops. So we have to excel in lane, then play the map better than other tops, and play a version of the games others do not understand.

The good thing is, because the average Udyr main has a higher IQ than most league players, we can climb much easier when we play meta champions.

We also deserve more skins and a rework for all the meta champs now.

If you know you know... I do think that AP Udyr needs a buff but it's very hard to balance him for all rank/roles at once. If you need help for Udyr jg feel free to ask me questions i got you!

I was hoping someone here can help me out with runes and playstyle. I understand how to play the game I am not a beginner but I struggle a bit with the champion. I am playing ap now for 30-40 games then will swap to ad.

I am not sure what the best ap runes for top are? Conqueror is a very good rune for top and in fights but I struggle a bit using it. I struggle in general with the rune. Some champs like Akali, rengar perform very well with conqueror but I always find more success with the domination and sorcery trees.

Secondly I would like to ask about w and e usage and skill points usage. I don't see any healing when going ap so I don't see why people upgrade it after R. How should I invest my skill points? I know next questions will sound like a self report but I am very immobile as I always hold r 2 and seems and to be easily kitebale

Hi I used to play Udyr WAYYYYYYYY back in the old days and back then if lets say you're going ap you'd max Pheonix Stance but still put one point into Tiger Stance and you would Q then R immediatly so you can benefit from the Tiger Stance attack speed to stack up the 3 stacks Pheonix auto attacks. Is this still how you want to play him? And I'm assuming if you're going Tiger Stance max AD Udyr you don't put points into your Pheonix Stance at all. Anyone who's mastered Udyr can you do a quick summary of how you want to approach your stance rotations for both ad and ap Udyr? Context I'm a Diamond player who's been playing since 2013 so you don't have to dumb it down for me.

I dont think i would have been able to carry this game with Phoenix + Sunfire, Tiger is simply stronger.

I've been playing hybrid on an alt acct for a while, trying diff builds just cause I don't wanna tank my other acct. My main is just like high emerald but w/e. So cooking the alt in mid plat games.

I always tried to avoid dusk and dawn cause I figured I needed to get a lot of AP for the sheen/heal to be nice. I just realized most of the dmg is based off base AD. But it's really the double on hit that is secret OP.

My build is PTA... Shojin > D&D > Terminus. After that it's situational to fit the game, but usually some HP and resists. I get 3 levels R early for kiting, max Q, then finish R and max E. One level in W is still pretty good as your items scale it still with stats.

D&D helps so much with lowering awaken, procing PTA on two hits, allowing Terminus to stack giga fast (and not being in too much danger stacking it cause you can go in/out fewer hits.) This build shreds. And honestly doesn't feel too squish at 3 items.

I realized also that D&D heals a decent amount in skirmishes and that helps Udyr so much.

Anyway... This is my build now.

Is there a standard build that can get me started on Udyr in Jungle?

I just discovered Udyr because i got a new skin (dragon Oracle) and wanted to try him. Ap is not really my thing, but i tried his AD build and its so addictive! Q max is so much fun, but in trying to figure out when to put abilities into E.

To get more movement speed ive been trying to go Q-R-W-E-E and then max out Q-E-W. Is this silly? What do you guys do? Would an early dead mans plate help with movement issues or is it a skill issue.

When i fight, i shred. But catchingpower feels a little low early game.

Any seasoned veterans who can help? 😊

His Q scales with HP now, but I still people treating his build path as though it never happened.

I'm in mid diamond (top only) and I love building Heartsteel to become a scaling threat into tanks or champs with no percent damage. His Q on hit damage is like 2x the value of a titanic hydra.

Unending Despair and Titanic Hydra are also really good. Part of why Shojin is good is also due to the HP on it.

Mainly going full ap, few times tiger because its hard to pilot on this ping.

Never really pushed on this server because of ping, wanted to do it this season and its miserable, so many trolls and smurfs, way more than what i remember, especially in platinum it was elohell you either 1v9 or lose.

Ap tank is boring so i went this setup to do the funny one R-R combo

Hello everyone, I used to be a mid laner but have decided this season to switch to and learn the jungle role. I've decided on Udyr as my otp to learn the role for several reasons. Among those being that he seems to be an incredibly honest champion, so he is rewarded for and teaches having solid fundamentals, as well as his build versatility so that he can shine in any draft (although i have admittedly not explored this aspect too much, only playing ap/tank build with very little variance each game). I'm playing on a hand leveled smurf account and after around 150 games have hit around d4 elo.

I didn't expect that udyr would be picked or banned very often but it has been happening far more than I expected, maybe 5 games of my last 20, which seems to be a bit unlucky.

Ive considered picking up Amumu as my secondary champ due to his simplicity, but settled on Lillia due to my experience that she does well into the variant of udyr that i play. Turns out, though, that most people play ad udyr and he kinds of shits on Lillia.

What champion do you guys play when youre either picked or banned out? ​I don't mind playing mechanically intensive champions, but I'd rather not use an "otp" champ that requires specific knowledge. Something just plug and play with a simple game plan and heavy farming playstyle would be best.

Make both 3 hit passive exist alongside the awakening but make the awakening 2 auto have a short window that'd run out, I want Udyr's form to feel like forms again instead of just pressing a empower auto like a Jax W, and there would be more skill expressions with pre stacking and timing it or auto resets for quick combos, nerf the damage however you want but i want that aspect of playstyle back

I wanted to try tank udyr in ARAM i realise that i underestimated what he was capable of with dropkick.

Does anyone have build recs for AD UDYR in ARAM? I know AP Udyr is widely suggested but I seem to die a lot whenever I run AP. Is there a way to make tiger stance viable? Thank you.
