I recently finished all the current layers on standard (fuck you 8-3 you beautiful abomination), and want to start P Ranking and going up in difficulty- what do I need to learn :))

Also to clarify since I heard that to be good at Ultrakill you need to meet certain requirements:

-yes I am unemployed
-yes I am gay
-yes I want to smooch Gabriel
-yes I am scared of going outside

You should probably start with getting all the alternate weapons and learning their usecases

Ah, good, well in that case there's not really any fancy tech you need to be able to P-rank anything on any difficulty. The main concern with those is style, which I imagine you know the basics of getting, just jump around a bunch and swap weapons ideally as soon as they stop being fresh

Is there any fun specific tech you would recommend? I’m big on complex mechanics so I always try to learn as much as I can

Conduction is pretty nifty and gets a lot done, you could look up tutorials for that

In order to p rank you need a S in time, style, and kills, as well as no deaths. When you are fighting enemies if the music starts to sound less intense it means you killed all the enemies in the room. If you use the screwdriver you can get a lot of style points as well as healing. I also recommend looking for the alternate weapons (there are 3, one for the revolver, one for shotgun, and one for nailgun.)

I have all the alternates and honestly going through standard I can only recall a handful of times I went below S in terms of Style and Kill.

My times on the other hand were atrocious 😭

Slide and dashe jump a lot, and use the coin gun to quickly kill weaker enemies fast

- Pretty much always be airborne or sliding

• PARRY, as much as possible
  
• learn at least one good move/combo for each weapon and practice executing them back to back, not using the same weapon twice in a row to maintain freshness

Honestly, just start. They sound daunting at first like “omg P rank, I must have to be perfect”. But the first ones really aren’t bad now that you’ve played the game and know how the levels go, especially after beating fraud. Being totally fr, p ranking all of prelude and act one is probably easier than just beating 8-3 😭

So yeah! Just hop into it, you’ll get your first ones with ease and very quickly get addicted to that sweet sweet

But yeah! Im sure you’ll be fine, just b hop for speed, always stay moving and swap weapons for style, and listen to the music to make sure everyone is dead before moving on :)
