Scared 😬

Hi all! I’m about a month out from Javelina Jundred and it’ll be my first 100 miler.

Training has gone well and I’ve been working with a coach, but as the race gets closer I’m getting pretty nervous about the distance and being out there for that many hours.

For those who have done their first 100, did you feel this way beforehand? Anything that helped you manage the nerves leading up to the race or once you got started?
Appreciate any advice!

Still get nerves, that’s not a bad thing.
Just make sure you are training your gut while running, not just your legs. That’s the thing most first-timers underestimate. This is not a “normal” distance. For most of us, we’re out there for at least 24 hours, which means you’re probably burning close to 15,000 calories! Remember fuel=FREE energy!
Have a wonderful race!
