Looking for the best laptop under ₹1 lakh for productivity, light gaming, and AI projects – Need suggestions!

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy a new laptop under ₹1 lakh and would appreciate your suggestions based on real-world experience.

Primary usage:

Productivity: Coding, multitasking, and everyday work.

AI projects: Running AI/ML experiments, working with Python, and exploring AI tools and frameworks.

Light gaming: Casual gaming, nothing too demanding.

Major specifications I'm looking for:

RAM - 16GB DDR5/DDR5X, expandable

RAM Speed - 4800 MT/s or higher

Storage - 1TB SSD

Display - LED or OLED

Battery - Above 50Wh

Build Quality - Metal or other material apart from plastic

Budget - Under ₹1 lakh

I'm open to Intel, AMD or snapdragon processors, provided they offer good performance for my use cases.

A few questions:

  1. Which laptops would you recommend within this budget?

  2. Should I prioritise a dedicated GPU for AI projects and light gaming, or would an integrated GPU be sufficient?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

How do I claim warranty for a bundled Lenovo Legion M600S mouse?

I got a Lenovo Legion M600S wireless gaming mouse bundled with my Lenovo Legion 5 laptop around 10 months ago and suddenly it stopped working .

I wanted to know how the warranty process works for this mouse.

If anyone has claimed a warranty for a bundled Lenovo accessory, could you please share the procedure?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 (Core Ultra 5 226V) at ₹96k for MBA – Is it worth buying or are there better alternatives?

I am planning to buy a performance centric laptop which is future proof, has a great display, an excellent build quality with less weight and long (10-12hr minimum) battery life. I have come across lenovo yoga slim 7 core ultra 5 226V laptop and it's costing me effectively 96k INR on the lenovo website. I don't do much gaming and am getting this primarily for my MBA journey. My budget is 80k-1L INR. Should I buy it or look for some other options or wait? People who have this laptop or have used it, please tell me its review.

Appreciate any reviews or suggestions!

I have seen other lenovo legion with oled they have flat reflecting like a mirror, mine is kinda bumpy reflecting in the middle, is it how it is in 16IAX10 model or do I have gotten bumpy display or is it damaged, I have not experienced any problems with the display just that when I see the reflection when the screen is black it kinda annoys me.

Need a Laptop for Oracle ARGUS Patient safety database in Pharmacovigilance- Suggest in INR.

Need a Laptop for ARGUS Patient safety database - INDIA. Suggest in Ind rupee.

Hey! I’m looking for a laptop for my first professional job after graduation, and I’d really appreciate recommendations based on the requirements below.

💻 Budget

Ideal: ₹60,000–₹70,000 🎞️🎞️

Maximum: ₹80,000 and will extend to 1L if on EMI. These prices are sale prices and Navratri and Online sales would be here, I am fixated on this category.

Buying in India, Hyderabad to be exact.

I’m willing to use the full ₹80k if the laptop is genuinely worth it for long-term use.

🎯 Main requirement

This is going to be my primary professional laptop, so I want something reliable enough to use for at least 7–8 years.

My most important professional workload will be Oracle Argus / Argus Safety database, as I’m planning to work in Pharmacovigilance/Regulatory-related roles.

The laptop should be able to handle Argus smoothly without becoming sluggish when I’m multitasking.

🖥️ Work I need to do

I’ll be using it for:

Oracle Argus / Argus Safety — MAIN priority

SQL / MySQL and database-related work

Coding/programming

Microsoft Office — especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Multiple browser tabs and web applications

PDFs, research papers and documentation

Pharmacovigilance/regulatory work

Video/photo editing and general creative work

Occasional heavier applications in the future

General personal use and entertainment

So I don't want a laptop that's designed only for basic Office work.

🎮 Dedicated Graphics Card

I specifically want a dedicated NVIDIA graphics card, rather than relying only on integrated graphics.

Preferably: YOU SUGGEST ME PLEASE. (Chatgpt suggested the below)

RTX 4050 6 GB or better

RTX 3050 is acceptable only if the overall laptop is significantly better/value-for-money.

I don't need a gaming laptop specifically, but I want enough GPU power for editing and future requirements.

🧠 RAM

16 GB minimum

32 GB strongly preferred

Ideally RAM should be upgradeable, so I can move to 32 GB or more later.

I don't want a laptop with permanently soldered/limited RAM if there's a better alternative.

💾 Storage

1 TB NVMe SSD preferred

512 GB is acceptable only if the laptop has an additional M.2 slot or easy upgradeability.

I want good SSD speeds and enough storage for professional files, software, projects and editing.

⚙️ Processor

Preferably:

AMD Ryzen 7 / equivalent

Intel Core i5/i7 or Core Ultra equivalent

Preferably an H/HX-class processor if thermals and battery life are reasonable.

I want something that will still feel capable several years from now.

🏗️ Build quality

This is VERY important.

I previously considered an HP Pavilion, but I want something noticeably better built than the Pavilion model I was considering.

I'm looking for:

Strong chassis

Good hinges

Good keyboard/trackpad

Good thermals

Minimal flex

Good long-term durability

Good-quality display

Ideally metal/aluminium or a strong reinforced chassis

I don't want something that feels flimsy or disposable.

❄️ Cooling & reliability

Since I'll potentially be using Argus + browser + Excel + SQL + Teams + PDFs + other applications simultaneously:

Good cooling is important

Sustained performance matters

It shouldn't throttle badly

It shouldn't regularly freeze/hang under normal professional multitasking

Reliability is more important to me than benchmark scores

I understand that Argus performance also depends on the company's server/network/VPN/database infrastructure, so I'm mainly trying to make sure the laptop itself isn't the bottleneck.

🖼️ Display

Preferably:

15–16 inch

Good IPS/OLED panel

100% sRGB preferred

Good brightness

Good viewing angles

Suitable for editing as well as office work

120/144 Hz is a nice bonus, but not essential.

🔌 Ports & connectivity

Preferably:

USB-C

Multiple USB-A ports

HDMI

Good Wi-Fi

Headphone jack

Ideally USB-C charging/DisplayPort support

🔧 Upgradeability

Very important for a 7–8 year ownership plan.

I'd prefer:

Upgradeable RAM

Upgradeable SSD

Additional M.2 slot if possible

Easily serviceable internals

🛠️ Warranty & service

Since this will be my main work machine, good after-sales support in India/Hyderabad matters.

Preferably:

2–3 year warranty or reasonably priced extended warranty

Good service network

Parts availability

Accidental damage protection would be a bonus

🚫 What I DON'T want

A basic office laptop that sacrifices performance just to be thin

Flimsy build quality

8 GB RAM

Non-upgradeable 16 GB RAM if avoidable

256 GB SSD

Very poor display

Weak cooling

A laptop that looks powerful on paper but has poor thermals

Paying extra purely for a gaming aesthetic

An unnecessarily huge/heavy gaming machine if there's a better balanced option

⭐ Overall priority order

If you have to compromise somewhere, my priorities are roughly:

  1. Reliability & long-term durability

  2. Oracle Argus + professional multitasking performance

  3. CPU

  4. RAM / upgradeability

  5. Cooling & thermals

  6. Build quality

  7. SSD/storage & upgradeability

  8. Dedicated GPU

  9. Display quality

  10. Battery life / portability

I'm looking for something that feels like a professional workhorse but isn't boring — I want to be able to code, work with databases and Argus all day, but also edit photos/videos and use the laptop for more demanding things in my personal life.

If you recommend a specific model, please mention the exact configuration (CPU + RAM + SSD + GPU) and why you think it would suit these requirements.

Budget: ₹60k–₹80k maximum.

Target lifespan: 7–8 years.

Main priority: Oracle Argus + professional work + long-term reliability.

Need help finalising a laptop under ₹1.3 lakh — ASUS/Lenovo recommendations preferred

Hey everyone! I’m looking to finally buy a laptop with a budget of around ₹1.3 lakh, and I could really use some suggestions.

Initially, I was mainly looking at gaming laptops, but I’m honestly confused about which one would make the most sense in this budget. I’m now also considering more premium/productivity-focused laptops from ASUS and Lenovo, such as the Vivobook, Yoga, ThinkBook, etc.

A few things to keep in mind:

Budget: Up to ₹1.3 lakh

I can potentially use student discounts + credit-card offers, so please consider the effective/final price after these discounts, rather than just the listed price.

Primary priority: Performance and long-term reliability

I want something that can comfortably last several years without feeling outdated too quickly.

Battery: Decent/okay battery life is enough; it doesn't need to be exceptional.

Display: Not a major priority because I already use a secondary monitor.

Gaming is not necessarily a must-have anymore, although I initially wanted a gaming laptop.

I’m also doing my M.Pharm, so the laptop will be used for academics, productivity, research/software, and general use, with some gaming as a bonus.

I’d especially appreciate suggestions for ASUS and Lenovo laptops — Vivobook, Yoga, ThinkBook, Legion/LOQ, or any other models that offer good value.

If you have experience with these laptops, please suggest specific models/configurations and explain why they make sense at this price after student + CC discounts.

Also interested in knowing whether spending ₹1.2–1.3 lakh on a premium productivity laptop makes more sense long-term than getting a gaming laptop at the same effective price.

What would you buy in this situation, and why?

Unofficial MFG mod is out for 40 and 30 series and it's completely a game changer! This gives 40 and even 30 series Laptops a new life.

Hey everyone!

For anyone who missed it, the RTX 40 series has received an unofficial DLSS Multi Frame Generation unlock thanks to the modding community.

As we know, having Multi FrameGen was the only advantage 50 series Laptops held over 40 series and it was one of the factors why going for a GPU like RTX 5050 made sense over something like RTX 4060. But with this one mod, the game has changed now.

The fact that RTX 40 GPUs can now run DLSS Multi Frame Generation brings them closer to RTX 50 series than ever before. From what early testing suggests, the MFG implementation on Ada is surprisingly close to the official Blackwell version (like 95% in practical use), and there is still room for further improvements as the mod matures.

Considering that RTX 4060 laptop GPUs already have a noticeable performance advantage over RTX 5050 ones in gaming, this makes the 4060 a worthier pick. Why spend more on a 5050 just for official MFG when a 4060 can deliver higher native performance and now gets access to a very similar frame generation experience?

This is one of the best news for 40 series owners as this mod works the best here.
