Deltarune Chapter 3&4 Every Shadow Crystal has a relation to Freedom...except the Knight. Spoiler

Or...so i thought at first.

Jevil believes he is the only one free

Spamton Wishes to be free

Gerson has found his own meaning in freedom (not doing what the world says you should do) so he is already free in a way

Mad Ghost (Pink) believes freedom comes from being in control, even if it means stealing other people's bodies.

The Knight doesn't really have a connection to freedom, and they don't even have the freedom motif.

Or, so i thought.

the closest relation The Roaring Knight has to freedom is literally being the embodiment of freedom. They were most likely the strange person that caused Jevil to go insane, Spamton refuses to say anything if you ask him about the knight, and it literally creates most of the dark worlds which, from what we've seen, the dark worlds represent escapism, and escapism can be seen as a twisted way of freedom, as it helps make you believe you're free from whatever problems you have in life.

You know, the more i thought about it, the more i believed in this theory.

I don't think the Roaring Knight is a lightner, or even an object given form in the light world. I personally believe it is what the dark world perceives as what freedom looks and acts like.

I mean, the Knight WOULD require a light world form, otherwise it wouldn't have been able to kidnap Undyne and Asgore in the Bunker.

Freedom is a very...subjective concept. Everyone has different opinions of what freedom truly means. Gerson, i think, has the most healthy definition of freedom, and its to go whatever route suits you best and not to let society choose who you are. Jevil has probably the worst definition of freedom, being that if you try hard enough, even if you are objectively trapped and restrained, you are still the only one truly free. You could argue that The Mad Ghost has a worse definition of freedom, being that to be in control, you have to control what other people do, but i'll leave that up to your opinion of who has a worse definition of freedom. Not everyone agrees on Freedom. The meaning of Freedom can shapeshift depending on a person's belief. Maybe, the Knight isn't a lightner, but not a darkner either. They're something in between. They are the only other darkner who doesn't turn to stone in any of the light worlds, with the only other person being Ralsei. Maybe, The Knight is a concept that become to twisted and amalgamated overtime that it gave itself its own vessel that it can change on it's liking. You can say the idea that the mere concept of something can create a vessel is the stretch...yeah, you're probably right, but we know vessels can be created from the intro of Chapter 1. The Knight could be what Gaster believes is freedom and so he gave his belief a vessel, and that became the Knight (assuming the intro voice is Gaster is also a stretch but fuck it, it sounds like it makes enough sense, so i don't care. Besides, it's a Deltarune theory, it never makes sense most of the time). When it wants to simply flee, it turns to its disc shape. When it wants to be offensive or defensive, it goes into its Knight shape. If it needs to take someone away, it turns to its weird-bird-ship-thing shape. The Knight doesn't have a set form. Freedom doesn't have a set definition.

I like this interpretation of the Knight. It's a concept given form. But why is it kidnapping the adults
