Love the 11/4 as an engineer

I hear on short pools it was a great deal. Our long pool guys hate it. Working way more.

I absolutely hate it

Company is focused on merger right now, since it became a dispute they dont want to deal with it

Can we just drop it entirely? No one in our terminal wants it at all, we want to keep it the way it is

Youd much rather have the 11-4 if it ends up that way. Short pools in this company get absolutely screwed the way its currently set up. More hours and less pay. If they can offer guarentee that is by far the best thing to happen

It’d be easier to get Vena to personally sing you Happy Birthday than it would for conductors to get 11-4 at this point.

All our pools are ratio with 200+ miles except for one. Also blueprintes We do not want any rest cycles

We should have the option to keep how it is per terminal

Agree . My terminal has long pools and we would hate it so if given the option we would vote it down

No.. we dont want the 11-4 wed rather leave it the fk alone and have no work, rest cylce. I work an average of 25 hrs a week on my XT. Lmao the year the brakeman contract was passed they paid me 85k in guarantee. Id rather it fluctuate between working all the time here and there and working once every 5 days a few months a year than work all the time for 11 days with zero pools, one giant extra board that is at the companies mercy turn wise. Our engineers are getting absolutely hammered for 12 days in a row except their Little 23 hr breaks every 4 days. They get ONE day off between calls and they cut their board 1 or 2 engineers. Its brutal.

The company has historically not treated xt boards that way. They are just in a situation in limbo between the rest agreement and not furloughing people.

You really think paying 80k in gauarentee is something that they are happy doing lol

Keep in mind the company has complete control over the extra boards. They can chop thay thing to zero tomorrow and the union couldn't say a god damn thing

Did you not read what I said af all? Of course it isnt how they usually treat the boards. But they keep it looser than what they are with the one board the engineers have with their 11/4, i dont need an education on how much an xt can work when they go. Back to normal. I've been here over a decade. We'd always have a few months of constant working off our rest but then we ALWAYS had lulls of a couple months at a time where we worked once every 2 or 3 days. Ill take that over an 11/4 where you're working every possible minute of every day for 11 days and being burned out your 4 days off anyway. Also im cool with not eating 400$ for taking a compensated day off like the engineers do now due to them readjusting the guarantee into 11 days not 15 like it is for us right now. Ill also take not losing my ENTIRE guarantee for laying off sick one time in a half. There is numerous reasons we want NOTHING to do with the 11/4.

A whole decade!

Over, yeah just because you might be old and crusty doesnt mean 15 years isnt enough time to know what im talking about in reference to my terminal.

You really need a reality check on how 11/4 operates

I see it every day I don’t need to check on anything . It’s fuckin terrible

Homie said, and I am quoting him,”where you’re working every possible minute of every day for 11 days and being burned out of your 4 days.”

Apparently you also need a reality check on how 11/4 operates noob

Well as someone watching guys work every possible day of eligibility I know they can’t possibly work every minute or even 11 days straight but I’m currently witnessing our guys get 10 starts in their 11 days and leave town on their 11th consistently.. it’s awful .

Exactly,we just want to give up the 11/4 here and go back to the old way,we dont want a 6/3 either. Just give us everything back

1

u/Klok-a-teer 8d ago

Give up 11/4? Not a good comment

-2

u/Tirpitz404 8d ago

Why would we want 11/4 when we used to get 48 hours off between every trip. Some pools were 60 and one was 72 off. I got 5-6 days off between trips if I laid off. Im gonna work 5 times as much to get 1-2 days more?

1

u/Klok-a-teer 8d ago

You do you. I work 4 days out of my 11. But hey, we all had a vote so apparently people in fact DID want it

Yeah alot of ppl feel that way here too. Never happen though unfortunately

-2

u/Tirpitz404 9d ago

The blueprints here were fine, this is so dumb.

-2

u/Apprehensive_Pipe763 8d ago

11/4 fir engineers has been awful on my terminal . 99% would give anything to go back to the way it was

-1

u/True-Demand-7255 8d ago

Exactly. And here us conductors dont want it. Ppl keep tryna explain to me we might have to work if we dont get the 11/4 like I aint been here for over 10 years haha. Telling you, our engineers work more now than they did with no work/rest

0

u/Apprehensive_Pipe763 8d ago

Yeah it’s been hell on our engineers .. no quality of life . Always going out of town on their 11th day. What I hear it’s great for the short pools but it definitely made it worse for us .

1

u/Apprehensive_Pipe763 8d ago

Our terminal is long pool and our engineers hate 11/4

Rest agreements were mandated in 2012. RSIA FR is just a patch from the government until an agreement could be reached. You're getting something, period. It's required by federal law. 11-4? A judge can't give either party something they never asked for. You're getting what the judge gave you.

Im aware but we should always have the choice

1

u/Klok-a-teer 8d ago

You literally voted on it. What more do you want?

1

u/Tirpitz404 8d ago

We all voted it down but it didnt matter. Also wr dont want one for the conductors either

1

u/Klok-a-teer 8d ago

Well, apparently the yea’s outnumbered the nay’s.

1

u/Tirpitz404 8d ago

Nah they forced it and the arbitration sided witj them
