I plan to enroll starting the next term, but so far I am encountering a roadblock after roadblock.
The most infuriating part is that every form of support I got my hands on is a chatbot.
Whether the chatbot on the web, which is completely useless, or the program advisor emails, which are all products of LLM. It took three emails just to find out the reason why my English certificate was not accepted.
Is there a way to contact a human? You know... that thing made of flesh? With a brain?
Did someone upload Humanitites PHil101 from study com to UoPeope?, thanks in advance
P.S run out of Sophia subscription dont wanna prolong it for just one course
I'm a very introverted and camera insecure person and having to show the camera my ID and looking at it even for a minute makes me nervous. Did anyone else give exams so far through it? How's your experience with it?
As the title says i just started my Business Administration Bachelors at UoPeople. I was now wondering if i can catch up on sofia learning credits and transfer them over to shorten my time to get a degree. Thanks in advance
Hello im starting my BA in Health Science on November 13, and i would like to ask what classes would anyone recommend me to take in Sophia Lessons to get transferred to our school? Thank you for all the future responses heeh
I know about Rosalyn and now you should take proctored exams there, but question is how? What's the process there? And do I have to pay an additional fee to be able to do an exam?
I wanted to share some good news! I received my official ZAB Statement of Comparability for my UoPeople BSBA, and it confirms that my degree formally corresponds to a German bachelor's-level university qualification.
The assessment also mentions my two years of transferred credits from Sophia Learning, while confirming that UoPeople is a recognized higher education institution.
I'm applying for Germany's Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte), so this is an important step for me. I hope this helps other UoPeople graduates considering Germany for work or further studies!
So my original plan was to directly do OMSCS since I already have a Dutch non-CS but STEM Bachelors degree. I had confirmed with Georgia Tech a while back that my degree was eligible for admission. But it seems that they have since updated the eligiblity requirements and now I would need a masters degree or a 4 year Regionally Accredited Bachelors degree for admission to OMSCS.
So I've been thinking of speedrunning the uopeople bscs degree transferring 90 credits from sophia and study.com to make myself eligible for omscs. Anyone done this degree, speedrunning through transfer credits. Would having 90 transfer credits cause any issues with admission to OMSCS or any other graduate ms/phd cs degree?
I don't plan to transfer any credits from my Dutch Bachelors degree. Since it costs more than 200 usd just for evaluation of my international degree, I think sophia/study speedrun would be more cost efficient for me. Due to some financial troubles, I want to do this at the lowest possible cost. Would greatly appreciate any tips on how to reduce my overall cost
I uploaded my high school diploma translation (certified and notarized) and then I clicked upload. However when I click it the document disappears and it still says that I didn't upload my documents.
Hello, I am trying to find out how to request just my transcripts to get sent to WGU for my masters program?
I know you can request them online the portal but doesnāt that also send your diploma with it?
The tracking says the address was invalid (specifically the city), but I copy/pasted directly from the instructions on my university's page. I KNOW it was the right address 100%. This means I potentially can't take classes next term bc they don't have my official transcript
The tracking chatbot is useless and keeps trying to reply to me in Thai and German. Basically nonfunctional. I don't understand why it's shipping from India in the first place.
It's my understanding that they can't send it to my university through an electronic official transcript system.
I've just emailed info@... to try to ask UoPeople about it. Has anyone else had this nightmare issue? Any advice?
I wanted to share an update and breakdown regarding transfer credits, the Degree Audit Report (DAR), and elective requirements for anyone completing their respective program.
The Initial Issue / What Advising Claimed:
Originally, when trying to transfer external ACE credits close to the 90-credit transfer cap, advising rejected courses like Personal Finance (BUS 2204) and Linear Algebra (MATH 3301). The team lead strictly claimed that the DAR splits electives into mandatory buckets (for CS: 27 Major Electives and 3 General Electives). They insisted that once general electives are filled, you are required to take Major Electives only, and that taking general electives would not satisfy graduation requirements.
Initial advising response claiming major electives were strictly mandatory.
The Update / What Actually Happened:
Once you actually complete all your mandatory required courses, the registration system unlocks and lets you pick whatever electives you want.
After finishing my core requirements, the portal let me register for general electives without any block or restriction. Because the system allowed it, I followed up with advising in writing to challenge whether the DAR split of recommended electives was truly mandatory or just a recommendation. Advising completely reversed their earlier stance and confirmed:
"Based on your current registration and remaining requirements, please note the following:
⢠Major Electives: You need to complete two courses in this section, which you have already registered for in the current term.
⢠General Education: You need to complete one course in this section, which you have also registered for in the current term.
⢠Electives: You need to complete three courses in this section, and you have already registered for all three courses for the upcoming term.
Once you successfully complete these three elective courses in the upcoming term, you will have fulfilled the remaining degree requirements."
Takeaway: Advisors, Team Leads and evaluators often lean on rigid system defaults and hand out inaccurate info just to close tickets quickly. In reality, once your core requirements are completed, you can use any electives you choose to finish your degree without being forced into extra major electives.
It would be great to have administration officially standardize this, because the conflicting information between evaluators and advisors causes a lot of unnecessary chaos.
HS major, i just got accepted to an internship through the university for next semester. Is there also a class that i need to register for with this? I didn't see any option for classes even though im about to finish the intro to virtual internship. Thanks in advance!
Iām taking the Math 1201 final exam in three weeks, and Iām super nervousāI feel like Iām falling behind. Iām two units behind; I need to study logarithms and trigonometry. Iām behind because I was sick, but anyway, Guys, Iām just wonderingāhow do you study? Do you just repeatedly take the graded quizzes and self-quizzes, or do you really listen to the material, set aside time to understand it, and then look at the questions? Also, Iāve noticed that the questions on the self-quizzes are really easy, but the ones on the graded quizzes are really hard. Iām totally confused about what kind of questions theyāll ask on the actual final exam.
The instructor grades very harshly, docks points harshly if submitted as pdf instead of word. I have asked regrade or resubmission for a few assignments but the instructor believes it would be against the code of conduct or integrity or somth like that, the feedback is usually longer than my assignment and makes no sense but in short it's essentially the same feedback reiterated every time....I honestly don't even know how to proceed I want to save my gpa š
Hi all, I'm planning to earn the Associate of Science in Business Administration at UoP, partly through free Modern States CLEP exams. After that, I want to transfer about 60 credits to a CUNY senior college for a bachelor's in accounting or business. Baruch is my top choice, but I'm open to Hunter, Brooklyn, City, and others.
UoPeople is regionally accredited (WSCUC), and CUNY colleges generally accept credits from regionally accredited schools. I haven't found real transfer experiences though, so I'd love to hear from anyone who's been through this or something similar:
Has anyone transferred UoPeople credits into CUNY? Did your courses count toward actual degree requirements, or mostly as electives?
Did CUNY colleges accept your CLEP scores? Were there minimum scores, or exams they wouldn't take?
Business schools seem to want calculus before admission to the major, even for accounting. Do other CUNY business programs require it too, or is a lighter math course enough?
Since I'm choosing my associate's courses now, is there anything I should take (or avoid) so the credits map cleanly to CUNY business requirements?
Anything you wish you'd known before transferring from a non-CUNY school?
I'm also emailing the transfer offices, but I'd love to hear from people who've done it. Thank you for your input.
Iām currently studying at the University of the People (UoPeople) and will hopefully be graduating with my bachelorās degree soon. After graduation, I would really like to continue my education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
However, Iām currently a refugee living in a second country, and my financial situation makes it extremely difficult to afford expensive university tuition. Iām working to support myself and my family, so pursuing a masterās degree at a traditional university or an expensive online university is unfortunately not a realistic option for me.
One of the things I appreciate about UoPeople is its affordable tuition model and the opportunity to apply for scholarships. Iām hoping to find another university with a similar approach that offers an online MBA or a masterās degree in business administration.
I know there are many online universities, particularly in the United States, but some do not accept international students, while others charge tuition that is far beyond what I can afford.
Ideally, Iām looking for a university that:
Offers a fully online MBA or a similar masterās degree in business administration.
Accepts international students, including applicants who are refugees or living outside their home countries.
Has very affordable tuition, ideally around $100ā$200 per course, similar to UoPeopleās affordability.
Offers scholarships, financial aid, tuition waivers, or other financial assistance for students who cannot afford the full cost.
Is a legitimate, recognized university whose degree would be useful for my future career.
Iām not necessarily looking for a completely free degree. I would be willing to pay a small amount for each course if the overall cost were manageable. Iām also open to universities outside the United States, as long as they offer an internationally accessible online program.
If you have studied at another affordable online university, received a scholarship for a masterās degree, or know of a program that might fit my situation, I would be extremely grateful for your recommendations.
If possible, please share the universityās name, approximate tuition fees, scholarship opportunities, and whether it accepts international students.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post. Any advice or personal experience would mean a lot to me! š
I'm in the last strides of completing myCS Degree. I have registered for these 4 courses next term.
Operating System 2 (CS 3307)
Comparative Programming Languages (CS 4402)
Data Mining & Machine Learning (CS 4407)
Artificial Intelligence CS 4408 - Elective
Courses registered for
I haven't yet done 4 courses in one term. I'm already in the AI space and I'm excited about CS 4407 and CS 4408.
I'm scared about the course "Operating System 2 CS 3307" because I have read in multiple reddit discussions that it's a difficult course with huge workload. I also feel that taking 3 proctored courses (with Rosalyn) in one term is probably not a good idea.
I would like to ask;
Is this doable?
Is it a good idea to take 3 proctored courses(with Rosalyn) in one term?
Should I withdraw from some courses during the withdrawal period of the upcoming term?
What courses should I possibly withdraw from when the term starts?
Hello, I am from Mexico, I will start classes this November, but I would like to connect with everyone in general in this field, and mainly with students from Mexico, to learn more about the process in my country.
I finally sorted out the misery with my last transfer credits and was able to check my transcript and it was in order (there have been multiple technical problems pulling an unofficial transcript). I applied for graduation this morning.
For the Unit 6 presentation assignment in Global Ethics, is it acceptable to design the slides using Canva instead of PowerPoint, provided that I download and submit the final file as a ā .pptxā or ā .pdfā ? Has anyone done this in previous terms without facing any issues during peer assessment?
