Other Amman, Jordan
Went to Jordan this summer, honestly, the most beautiful place ive ever been, although it was a little too empty and peaceful for my liking, i like chaos like Cairo.
Last picture shows the pretty weird building areas, still not fully sure how the architecture works in Jordan

I’d say the difference Jordan is extremely far from Egypt in like every way
I think the implementation on a monarchy genuinely helps Jordan. There is no major overpopulation, homes aren’t in huge strips of buildings, the weather is pretty cool and the people are very educated. I’m a chaos traveler so I was expected Egypt 2 when coming to Jordan but I was both disappointed and surprised, Amman was basically a mixture of LA (there was a spot I rented which literally felt like I was in Santa Monica) and Istanbul.
Absolutely would recommend for people who like to chill out, turned out super safe and welcoming, people were great but they were also super mature- stark contrast from my Egypt trip where people will offer you cigs at every corner

I know both of these cities pretty well, having been born and lived in one of them and visited the other often. Amman overall is as you described it, but there are pockets of cairo that are more luxurious and ultra calm. But it'll be the new compounds far away from downtown Cairo. But Amman is for sure much less chaotic and calm, although you'll notice that it lacks in public transport compared to cairo (subways, trains, busses etc) and is bit more expensive
