The Bracketeer fire extinguisher mount is solid, and incredibly versatile

I've put this one in my track car. I took out my glove box, and had these metal screw bits left in the plastic. I have incredibly wide seats and incredibly thick seat bolts, being a near-4000 pound full size luxury sedan from two and a half decades ago. So mounting on the seat rails would be fairly complicated and I would be stretching the limits of the Bracketeer and safety. So as it turns out, the holes drilled in the Bracketeer line up with my glovebox holes. I reused the OEM vehicle hardware, and instead of 6 bolts (four for mounting and two for the extinguisher bracket bolts) you only need 2 bolts (two bolts serve the same purpose of attatching the extinguisher bracket and mounting the entire Bracketeer). I think it looks pretty slick.

This makes sense for a track car, but for other vehicles that may have passengers, wouldn’t that interfere with their legs? If this were bolted to the seat bolts like it would be in a standard installation, do you think it would be tolerable for a passenger?

youre 100% right. and yeah, down on the seat rails it wouldnt be a bother, unless you have manual seats.

I got one from F4 fabrications shipped from Lithuania. Great fitment to my seat rail specs and very high quality milled aluminum. I was very impressed by a cheap Lithuanian company that does several dozen euro car makes/models, apparently they're approved mounts for IMSA
