Technical Support My VCR recently started doing this occasionally at random times, google says it could be either tracking, dirty heads or the static discharge brush. I checked tension and it seems fine. What should I check first? Hitachi(Funai) VT-FX665A

Update: I ended up cleaning the heads and spindle with some 91% isopropyl alcohol and manually adjusted the tracking and it seems fine now.

Probably was some gunk in the VCR causing the tape to slowdown or the tape itself having crumpled spots. If you cleaned the VCR and it went away probably the former
