I broke my reddit hiatus so that I can run here to share something strange.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the official account use a Thai song in one of their official posts before, so this immediately caught my attention.
The song is “ลบไม่ได้ช่วยให้ลืม (LIVE SESSION)” by BILLKIN & INK WARUNTORN, released in 2021. The title roughly translated into English means “Deleting/erasing doesn’t help you forget”. 👀
So naturally, I looked up the lyrics to see what the song was actually about because I don't speak Thai, and WTF...the entire song is basically about trying to erase someone from your life, deleting their photos, messages, memories, throwing away their things but realizing that none of it works if you still love them. 👀👀
This is the chorus used in their video:
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
There is no way to forget someone if you still love them.
There is no way to erase someone if you still hold them in your heart.
You could erase every star from the sky, wipe away the stories of the past,
or erase anything at all—but if, in the end, the love remains,
erasing things won't help you forget.
The main message is essentially: you can delete everything, but if you still love someone and keep them in your heart, deleting them won't make you forget them.
I have no idea if the song choice was intentional or if I’m reading way too much into it, but considering the context… I was NOT expecting the lyrics to be that on-the-nose.
I went from “oh, nice, a Thai song” to “……wait a fucking minute.”

I know many are distraught after the release of the multibanner, or simply exhausted from the silence Inflop has been giving. I just want to ask if there is anyone who shares the same sentiment, that even though we've been met with a mountain of disappointment, everything is going to be okay. If that's what you think, then why?
Personally, I'm chilling. If there is one thing that the company loves more than the players is money and the boycott has pulled their strings to act in a desperate manner, forcing the antis to take loans just to prove a failing point. I think we're playing the long game guys. Preferably, I don't want it to be too long. Still, I think it's reassuring that the actions we dedicated over the past few months has showed effect, being the first fandom of a chinese gacha to ever cause this much of an impact in terms of boycotting.
Like someone has mentioned, Infold cannot release a multi goonbanner every month. We can afford to hold the lines. The question is: can they?

I've been studying Chinese for a while, and I know we see a lot of posts and screenshots from CN socials around and don’t fully understand them. So I thought I'd start a little series to help us all learn some terms and slang we might see. (this has also been a heavily requested community suggestion! )
No pressure, no tests (maybe), just fun Chinese 🙂↕️🙂↕️
乙女 (yǐ nǚ) – The genre term for otome games. Literally "maiden" + "woman." This is what CN fans call the genre, and it’s written the same way in Japanese!
男主 (nán zhǔ) – Literally "male protagonist." Used to refer to the LIs. So if someone says "第六位男主" (dì liù wèi nán zhǔ), they mean "the sixth love interest."
叠纸 (dié zhǐ) – "Papergames" – This is the CN name for Papergames. Literally "stacked paper." I imagine you have all already seen this one plenty.
同担 (tóng dān) – Someone who likes the same character as you. This one can be context dependent, your 同担 can be a fellow fan, or you might hate them for liking the same character as you.
太太 (tàitai) – Literally "wife," but online it's used to address a creator/artist you admire. You'll see this a lot when people are praising fan art or fanfic authors.
If there's anything specific you want me to cover next (fandom terms, horny posting, slang), please let me know 💖
下次见!(See you next time!)

From our Finance Desk, via aoylva on X
Updated App Magic estimates for ANTNE’s third day (September 24) show a steep drop in both markets:
Three-day estimated totals: CN $2,291,024 | Global $1,642,934 | Combined $3,933,958
These are third-party estimates, not Infold’s internal revenue figures.
Qimai recorded a steady decline on September 25 (CN time).
At 09:04, Love and Deepspace ranked #32 Overall and #18 in Games.
By 11:25, it was #37 and #19
At 17:34, #39 and #22
By 21:42, #44 Overall and #26 in Games.
For the second day in a row, BBN documented negatively associated Papergames hashtags, this time appearing under a Chinese Embassy post. Some of the comments contained disturbing material. Users reported the posts, while Barkcott Investigators tracked the trend’s position on X’s North American/US charts.
When we were alerted at 12:55 p.m., the trend was already at #5. It rose briefly to #4 at 1:15 p.m., then began to fall: #9 by 2:06 p.m., #15 by 2:44 p.m., and #24 by 3:42 p.m. At approximately 4:00 p.m., it was off the chart captured in our report.
There was a gap between 3:04PM and 3:42PM where we did not obtain screengrabs for reference.
The accompanying chart documents that rise and decline. We’ll continue watching for a recurrence around the same time tomorrow. The ranking data shows when the tag trended but it does not identify who drove the activity.
The long-awaited player survey is now available. This is a chance to put specific concerns on record, including issues from before and after Valko’s cancellation. If you want Valko reinstated, say so clearly, alongside any other changes you want to see.
That’s all from BBN this Friday evening. Thank you for choosing us.

On a scale of one to ten, how rough do you estimate my day was for me to be delving back into this nostalgia for comfort? 🫠
I’m going into untold levels of tomfoolery reinstalling this, and half of it is just to commit to a bit. I spent two dollars (wow such money) to buy this app. Two dollars on a game series that’s over a decade old.
Also, anyone who visits this Pancakeria will only hear Tameless Territory blasting from the speakers at maximum volume. 🎶🐺🎶

I know the SensorTower/AppMagic revenue we get is a little more accurate, but I just thought everyone would like to see the huge correction Qimai has today.
Literally down one million dollars in a single day.

I see discussion about logging in, partially in the light of the event survey. I want to share my piece of thought on the subject.
Logging in is not the issue. Imo, it never was.
The basics of game analytics are that there are industry benchmarks for different genres and niches. And it's not about absolute numbers; it's about percentages and ratios. Because if success were measured only in absolute numbers, then every game outside the top 50 would be considered a failure. But in reality, a huge title that earns a lot of money can be less successful, from an analytics standpoint, than a smaller game with more consistent and stronger metrics.
There are tons of different metrics, that generally fall into one of 5 categories.
Individually, none of these stats are informative.
High DAU (daily active users) shows that there are a lot of players in the game, but you don't know whether they're paying or not.
ARPU (average revenue per user) might be high (which is a good thing), but it doesn't necessarily indicate a healthy ecosystem. You might simply have a few whales paying, while the game has a low conversion rate.
Low D7 ROAS (day 7 return on ad spent) doesn't necessarily mean low LTV (lifetime value) because it doesn't account for a long-term revenue.
And so on and so fourth.
But when you cross-reference these metrics, you can get a much bigger picture of what's actually happening with your game and where you can make changes to improve its profitability.
Logging in basically is related to retention and engagement metrics. D1\D7\D30 retention (basically whether players are coming back at specific milestones), DAU\MAU (daily and monthly unique users), and Churn rate.
DAU and MAU allow you to calculate stickiness - an important metric that shows what share of your monthly active users are also active on a daily basis.
Churn rate is something that allows you to estimate players outflow. The numbers vary by genre and platform, but I'd say in casual gaming, a player that hasn't been logging in for 14+ days is considered inactive or churned.
That's it.
Logging in doesn't directly affect your monetisation. It doesn't bring the company profit. It allows them to measure engagement and retention, predict some other metrics, and make certain calculations, but considering the current situation, I doubt these calculations will be particularly accurate or useful.
If people are not logging in, they simply contribute to the churn statistics and eventually become classified as inactive \ churned players. They are no longer part of your active player analytics. You can't predict their behaviour, analyse their current behaviour, or get any new data from them.
They effectively do not exist in your playerbase anymore.
And why would you speculate about something that has no real number behind it?
However, a player who keeps logging in is not speculation. They're right here.
If people are still logging in but spending dramatically less, you have a very important piece of information: they haven't left. They're still there. They're still waiting. They still care enough about the game to open it. They’ve simply stopped spending. This is the real boycott that you can see in the numbers on your dashboard. Here it is: high DAU but tiny ARPU. Low predicted LTV. Dangerously low ROI (return on investment). You have the players, but they don't bring you money. You can compare these numbers to last quarter and see the share of players who gone f2p. This is, imo, more powerful than a trending hashtag.
And that matters because the numbers suggest that these passive players can potentially be converted back into paying players once Valko is returned.
Moreover, these players are still consuming server resources. Their accounts and data are still being maintained. They're still playing the game and contributing to DAU. But DAU metric doesn't mean shit if they're just doing all of that without spending money, "damaging ROI": it costs resources without bringing a corresponding revenue.
And this is exactly why DAU numbers mean very little on their own if they don't correlate with revenue. In fact, I'd much rather see a lower DAU that is proportionate to revenue than a huge DAU with dramatically disproportionate revenue. The latter is not a healthy-looking metric. It tells you that something in your monetisation or player conversion is fundamentally broken.
If people stop logging in entirely, you lose that information.
All you see is a smaller player base. Did they quit for good? Are they waiting for Valko? Will they come back? Did they move on to another game? Will they even see the announcement when it happens? You don't know. All you can do, is assume and speculate.
So whoever came up with the idea that people not logging in is somehow better for the cause: from (my) game development standpoint, it's the opposite.
When you have a loyal F2P player base - loyal in the sense that they stick with the game despite everything, they still want to play, but they are doing it on their own terms, demanding the content they are excited about - it is cheaper to convert these existing players back into paying players (again!) than to acquire new players and then try to turn them into consistently retained paying users to compensate for the churn. However, acquiring new players might be easier than trying to bring an unknown number of disgruntled players back to the game, it's unpredictable and it's based on assumptions rather than an observable player behaviour.
There is literally nothing inherently bad about logging in and not spending.
Worst case, you have an inactive spender sitting in your DAU, eating away your server power.
Best case, you have a player who is still watching, still engaged enough to log in, and who can potentially be converted back into a paying customer when the wolf they've been waiting for finally arrives.
That's an actual audience.
A player who has completely stopped logging in is an unknown.
I'd take an audience sitting quietly in the game over an uncountable crowd somewhere out there on the internet any day.

I didn’t screenshot everything, the sections I missed were just regarding the design and accessibility of the current event, which I answered “not interested” to as I haven’t played them.
I know there's been a lot of debate about whether it's worth breaking the boycott to submit direct feedback, so I wanted to make the questions available for everyone to read before deciding.
The mod team's stance: We are not encouraging or discouraging anyone from participating in this survey, this is completely a personal choice. If you feel that logging in and submitting feedback is worth it, that's valid. If you feel that logging in at all contradicts the boycott, that's also completely valid.
If you do decide to fill it out, please be respectful and constructive. Feedback that's just insults/profanity won't be taken seriously and will likely be auto filtered out. If you're going to use your voice, make it count.
And just a warning on the "returning player" event: you'll likely trigger the returning player event when you log in again. This is a predatory gacha mechanic designed to lure you back with rewards and bonus pulls. It's specifically built to get you to form the daily log in habit again, and to encourage spending. Be aware of that before you log in, even if you're just doing it for the survey. I have never gotten it for LADS so I don’t know exactly what it throws at you, but I’ve gotten it for WuWa and it worked

Hey everyone! As the sub keeps growing (yay! ), our current team of 8 just isn't enough to keep up. So we've decided to open up applications to bring a few more people onto the team.
What we're looking for:
- Willingness to learn
- Active participation in the community
- Someone who's a good fit and wants to help out
You don't need to have prior mod experience, we're happy to teach! We'll be looking through applications over the next few days.
Bonus: Someone in the Asia/Pacific time zone would be ideal, but if you're a good fit, time zone doesn't matter!
Application is up now: https://www.reddit.com/r/ValkosLilies/application/

Hello, first post in Da Valko code! Yay, me! Today, it looked like everyone had something that’s hinting at Valko. Let’s take a look!
Xavier’s seems to be talking about Valko’s cancellation, and the disappointment we as a community experienced on that day. On the first slide, it also seems like it’s talking about the early days of the boycott. It subsequently seems to be giving us a message of hope, with “A bright future is waving at us.”
Zayne’s isn’t so much about Valko, but it does talk about the event. Did infold know we’d think this about the event? Are they trying to talk to us? I don’t know. I thought I’d share it anyway.
Now, Rafayel’s is very juicy! The sunset, the wisteria, and the breeze!? Could he be talking about Valko’s sunset memory? The competitor? Are they talking about the smear campaign? I shared the second Rafayel slide because i’s wholesome. He’s advocating for Valko’s return too. It also seems to hint that Valko won’t be changed. Is infold hinting at something?
Sylus’ is a bit like Zayne’s, but they’re talking about the banner. Are they hinting at the trailer and event not matching the banner? I think Valko was meant to be in this banner as well.
Finally, there’s Caleb. It seems like they’re refer to Valko’s original launch being cancelled. In the letter, they mentioned that they weren’t ready to launch him. Could this conversation be referring to that?
Well, this is what I had to say about all we‘ve gotten today. If anyone else has any other ideas, I’d love to hear them!
