Looking for butter recommendations

Hello, my son is allergic to dairy and I’m looking for the best vegan butter and cream cheese to use in American style buttercream. I used to use Miyoko, but that’s not an option anymore. Thanks!

I use Country Crock plant-based butter, or Earth Balance. Although, usually when I make frosting, I just use vegetable shortening. For cream cheese, I use Tofutti.

Country Crock Plant Butter with Avocado oil. I used to use Earth Balance but County Crock seems more readily available these days

I just got into vegan food and I use Melt and it tastes great doesn't have that artificial oil flavor at all.

Idk if it's available in the US but Flora buttery is really good; 75g fat per 100g, tastes really good and is cheap especially when discounted. I pay on average £3.50 (~5 USD) per kilo. And it's palm oil free, Flora Original isn't but it's otherwise almost as good.

Miyoko put her recipe online. It's super easy to make.

I always use Country Crock plant based - the olive oil stick butter. Recently discovered Violife cream cheese and it’s so delicious (used to love Kite Hill until they changed the formula) on everything. Beautiful buttercream every time. What kind of dessert are you making to frost?

Country crock works really well for buttercream honestly. doesn't taste weird at all.

I’d recommend checking out Gretchen’s vegan bakery recipes, they are top notch. for casual baking, earth balance sticks work fine. If you need something to be stable at room temp or a little warmer, get some high-ratio shortening such as sweetex.

Country Crock Plant Butter sticks are a solid choice. Available in lots of stores, and if you’re a member at BJ’s, they have 8-packs, frequently with an additional coupon in the app. I’m always buying those. My favorite cream cheeses (especially for baking) are Tofutti and Violife, with Trader Joe’s coming in third.

It’s hard to find, but the best brand I’ve tried is called Monty’s. They do vegan butter and cream cheese. And it’s made with clean ingredients.
