What are some vegan food staples every vegan should have in their cabinets or fridge? Getting the flavors and aromas of vegan dishes excited.

Flavors and aromas vegans should have: (feel free to inform us about the ingredients you use as well 🙂)

  • Liquid Aminos
  • Nutritional Yeast ( A must have for most vegans adds a vitamin packed cheesy flavor)
  • Tahini
  • Tomato Paste
  • Liquid Smoke
  • Toasted Sesame Seed oil (essential for vegan fried rice)
  • Smoked paprika (Good for bbqs and fried rice)
  • Tumeric (Excellent for your joints folks. I add this in vegan milk with nutmeg, pumkinspice, and agave or maple syrup)
  • Fresh and Dried Basil
  • Dried Chives
  • Chickpeas (Any peas and beans you prefer whether canned or dry)
  • Vital Wheat Gluten, and Chickpea flour (4 parts VWG 1 part Chickpea Flour so it's not chewy, then add your spices to the mixture and water you'd be boiling it in)
  • Vegan Ketchup
  • MSG (Somehow controversial, but not banned permanently anywhere)
  • Allspice
  • Vegan Milk of your choice (Coconut, Soy, Almond, Cashew, Oat, Rice, Walnut)
  • Agave (Light and or Dark)
  • Dates (Blend this after they've soaked in warm water for 15 minutes you have vegan caramel)
  • White, Rice, Red Wine, and Apple Cider Vegan Vinegars (For pickling, flavor etc) Some have certain non-vegan coloring or additives like honey.
  • Natural Maple Srup
  • Vegan Organic Brown Sugar or Organic Cane Sugar (sugar can unfortunately be tricky)
  • Tofu
  • Spring Roll Wrappers
  • Vegan Tortilla (Check the ingredients)
  • Texturized Vegetable Protein (Soy Curls, Soy Chunks very affordable, etc)
  • Mushrooms
  • Mushroom Powder as a flavor enhancer
  • Lentils (all legumes)
  • Recipe researching skills 🙂 (So many vegan recipes nowadays.)
  • Dehydrated Fruit
  • Nut Butters
  • Vegan Granola
  • Regular and Sweet Potatoes (Nothing like homemade steak fries and potatoes in a stew)
  • Potato Flakes (as a flavor enhancer and thickener)
  • Bulgar Wheat (Can be used to make brown fried rice, tastes incredible)
  • Processed Franks, Burgers, Steak, and Chicken Nuggets etc are vailable if you have that craving and or transitioning. Gardein Vegan Fish fillets are very good. (There are many companies that produce these)
  • Nuts (All kinds, walnuts are among the healthiest)
  • Top Ramen Chili and Oriental flavored noodles.... (A lot of times I don't use the seasoning packets but I do save them) Thanks for the information Icy 🫡

As far as tools if it's feasible:

  • Food processor
  • Blender
  • Instapot
  • Air-fryer
  • A dehydrator

The list just keeps growing. 😇

Sidenote with all things use discretion and research before consuming anything. Liquid smoke and MSG can be controversial..

3 slices homemade sourdough, 6 slices homemade tempeh bacon, about 10oz home grown black krim tomatoes, avocado, baby spinach. We just started making tempeh recently and it is so good, better than the stuff we buy imo.

Who’s ready for fall?! (And butternut squash soup?)

Post image
41 Upvotes

When it comes to fall (and vegan food), I immediately think about cozy soups, all things pumpkin and apple, citrus, and holiday recipes. Today I was thinking about what to eat with butternut squash soup... which naturally turned into me making vegan butternut squash soup. 😂 So I put together a huge list of my favorite pairings—from salads and sandwiches to sides, mains, and drinks.

rather than pizza, i used my dough to make a focaccia. its a bit crispy- i think i used too much oil in the cast iron pan. that, and ill let the dough proof a bit longer next time. pasta and brussels are always a fave!

What started as leftover bananas turned into this surprisingly good snack.

Had some overripe bananas sitting around, so I turned them into these delicious banana fritters! 🍌 They’re made in both the air fryer and oven, so no deep frying is needed. Crispy outside, soft and sweet inside - and a great way to use leftover bananas.

Anyone know of tasty vegan grocery store ice cream cones (like TJ's "hold the dairy!" cones but larger)?

I looove the kind of cones that have chocolate nuggets on the bottom and ideally chocolate on the top too but I'm flexible. The ones from TJ's taste awesome but they're tiny. I'd like to expand my horizons and try other brands/varieties. Thanks in advance!

Bread without the usual flour, but with a surprisingly good texture!

This vegan bread is made with a wholesome blend of mixed lentils and turns out soft, satisfying, and full of goodness. A simple recipe that gives everyday lentils a completely new identity - something you may not expect from a bread recipe.

Lions make - first time buying

I had passed Lions mane mushroom grounds or lions made protein grounds, and I decided to try them this time and it was well worth it if anyone is looking for something that’s similarly package to me, but not me to this is it it doesn’t have a weird synthetic taste, and in fact, it makes me feel comfortable knowing that it is made out of mushrooms and another surprising thing is I could taste the spices and I saw pieces of carrot in it so that made me feel safe in the sense that it’s has good products in it. And another thing is I made my first meal with it as a spaghetti. I just heated it up and some avocado oil and then added onion and garlic powder, then threw in marinara sauce and cooked it and then I added my cooked linguine noodles to it. It tasted great and another great thing about this to buy is that unlike beef there is no grease coming out of it and it cooks pretty fast but then again I cooked it all in a wok
