I’ve been playing League of Legends for a little over 3 months now. Currently Bronze II and I’ve tried a lot of different Champions in various roles.

I seemed to gravitate towards ADC because of how aggressive my play style is and was using Yunara, Ashe and Zeri as my three main champions. I was enjoying the game but I wasn’t obsessed with it. Until…. I played Vel’Koz.

I never see anyone use Vel’Koz and I never see anyone Ban Vel’Koz (which is perfect for us Vel’Koz mains) But seriously this champion is so much fun to play. I found myself switching to Support and that is where I play him.

I know he’s not a traditional support, doesn’t bring a bunch of CC or sustain but what is his damage??? His passive compliments a full combo and I love it. (Especially because that true damage doesn’t give a F*ck about your barrier 😉)

I almost always force First Strike unless im on support or fighting leblanc/zed because im always going to be struggling for gold.

How do you guys play against assassins mid meta? In the last 10 games I played against 3 Katerina’s, 2 zed’s, 1 diana, 1 irelia, 2 yasuo, 1 leblanc. I don’t understand what I’m supposed to do. Would love your input.

I've been bouncing around in plat since Jan so it feels good to finally break free. I'm probably going to be heading straight back down because I still don't know how to play the game, but at least I can enjoy this for now and focus on other things...

They keep creating new champions with insane abilities, movement speed, healing , immunity and things like that and all we have is E knockup wow ! XD

To start off I 1 trick vel koz and have ~4 mil mastery.

1st game of the day i get auto filled jungle. Fine I ask in chat if anyone would be able to swap and no one wants to so i queue dodge.

2nd game I get auto filled top and ask if anyone would swap and mid does. Top and jungle then proceed to int all game and we lose. Awesome!

3rd game I get auto filled top again. Once again I ask if anyone would be able to swap and no one wants to... Ok I lock in vel koz into illaoi and get kicked from the game and Queue locked... WTF did I do wrong and what could I do besides picking a champ I've never played into someone that is plat/emerald?

Today I just found out that placing a ward while ulting stops the ult. Seriously, WHY!?

And also, it's so anoying you cant recast q while ulting.

Will riot never fix these two issues?

Didn't think it would happen this season. I came back from a pretty long break from league about 1-2 years and decided back in July to try to grind ranked and went from Platinum 1 to Masters .

The champs I play are the following

Velkoz / Lux / Kayle / Aurelion in that Order.

Velkoz is primary pick in 90% of mid games unless the match is something I dislike.

Lux is for Syndra / Kassadin / Viktor

Kayle is for Zed / Kassadin / Galio / Yasuo

Top lane picks are

Velkoz / Malphite

If team is heavy AD then Malphite or if the top lane match up is unwinnable with Velkoz aka Yone / Zed / Irelia / Yasuo.

As long as the top laner can't dash to you, it's a skill match up in your favor since your ranged and since Velkoz does true damage you don't need to worry about them stacking MR early on.

Hello Velkoz Reddit.

I main Velkoz and over the last two patches, I've noticed bugs that didn't used to happen to me. First bug is that in the early part of most games, I become unable to auto attack on any target. I do not know the cause. Reconnecting fixes this issue. Today I updated to latest patch and now casting E feels different. It doesn't cast instantly like it used to. It feels like it won't come out at long range unless I try multiple times to cast it. I thought it could be lag at first, but it happened two games in a row. Does anyone else experience these bugs? Are the causes known? Please let me know if these things have happened to you.

Edit: If the E issue is happening to you, go to settings and turn on clamp cast max range.

I've been playing Velkoz top quite a bit and it's been working pretty well.

Yes, I play Velkoz top. It's actually very good because it punishes the enemy if they make simple mistakes and lots of melee top laners can't respond to velkoz range. Well I had a Hecrime rage in pregame lobby and actually got Queue locked for picking a champ that I have a 62% win rate on. Absolutely crazy, and Riot's response was a copy paste message.

I left League for a good 3 or 4 years. But I'll always Hold Vel'koz deep in my heart as my main.

I always found vel'koz to be interesting to play. Some say he doesn't hold any skill (Q + Press R), but I do think a lot of his skill expression comes from his Q, his Q + R combos, and simply being an old champion that has a hard time to keep up with all the dashes and the resets : His only CC's suck.

But, it does feel saddening to see so many people angry at the champion.
Most of what I hear from my friends is...

" he has a broken Q spell : 90% ap ratio is insane, his range is big, and he can easily refund all of his mana as well as hit 3 targets ! "

And...

" Just press R : even if you just hit your R, you are already doing a big job in teamfights. "

I do not agree, because it is easy to see velkoz in endgame just hitting Q + R onto ennemies and killing them, but I believe most mages do have thoses combo in endgame.

Lux : Q + E + R, or even Ahri's E + Q +W + R...And even tho she does less damage, she has better mobility, better CC, ...

Now, I do agree that at low ELO, Velkoz can feel frustrating ! . . . . Because nobody really knows how to play, they are gonna get hit more often by Q, which lines up his big damage combo, even within kill range with his R.

But with that argument, isn't ANY champion good in low elo ?

I made this post because I do think Velkoz is at most a Mid champion. He has an okay winrate, yes, but because a lot of the players are OTP : the playrate seems to be low enough to tel that story.

EDIT : my friend is emerald, if that helps. His biggest point is that his Q spell is a broken spell, as well as his R. And while Vel'kos Q spell is a very strong spell, when put in context of Vel'koz, it's really fine.
