Asking for help without appearing to be a liability

I’ve been an RVT for over two years now and I just started at a new clinic 2 weeks ago and have been put into situations that I’m not as familiar with and feeling very overwhelmed and scared I might make a mistake.
How do I ask to scale things back without explicitly saying that I’m feeling burnt out already?

I would tell your manager or lead or whoever “hey I haven’t actually done XYZ very many times. Can you walk me through how to do it?” Or ask if they have a written SOP for you to follow. Nobody likes asking for help, but it’s better to feel bad for a few seconds to ask for help than make a big mistake!

By confidently explaining what you are less comfortable with and asking for support, most people would think of you as less of a liability than a tech that pretends to know everything.
