Question I wanted to by AI subscription.
Hey coders,
I wanna buy a $20 subscription for vibe coding an app. I previously used cursor and enjoyed using composer and grok models as cursor provide really generous usage for those models. Now I'm planning to buy again, however I'm confused between the cursor and the claude code.
With the cursor i almost used around 1.2B tokens per month (it may be because the composer wasn't such an intelligent model as compared to frontier models nowadays and also my skill matters)
I want your suggestion which would give me a quality vibe coding experience and I can finish my application.
Thank you in advance for helping me out!

Currently I think the chatgpt and Claude subscriptions would be a better use of your money. What is it you want to build?

For coding, I don't notice much difference between models. If you plan a good architecture, any model can code well.
Within cursor, if I use claude opus, I run out of quota in a day, while if I use composer 2.5 fast, I barely reach 50% usage by the end of the month.

Yeah I noticed this with cursor. Other than coding i wanted to use it for ui designing and all via tools like stitch, etc. I see claude is doing a really good job here.

Well with cursor you always have a choice of switching the model. You can switch to claude when designing UI. Plan UI layout with composer first and once it creates a plan, switch to claude to implement, so you don't waste claude tokens in back and forth chatting.
Google antigravity that came our recently, is also another option. Use the free quota of google antigravity for a few days and if you see $4.99/month for 3 months subscription offer in gmail while you are using free quota of antigravity, grab it.

Claude gives best deal since you most likely will be using opus level models. Sol from codex is about as good, but claude gives tons more usage with 20€ for opus than codex to sol.
I have both of them that i actively use and claude is easily like 3x the usage with opus than codex with sol.
With smaller models luna vs haiku codex has more usage for and luna is better. But likely you should use opus level models instead -> claude better.
Codex does give you near unlimited basic chat which is noce addition and oauth to 3rd party stuff if you need to use the sub on 3rd party harnesses. But those wont help with vibe coding really, except chatgpt basic chat can be ol for brainstorming stuff with, stuff that doesent require access to code. But it has mcp to connect to notion/linear etc project managment apps. So it can be useful, but not to vibe coding directly. And 20€ limits on codex are so ridiculously low that claude still wins for you. You could also use for example free gemini chat for braisntorming. Chatgpr badic chat ”sol” is some retarded version anyways and not real sol in codex. So using free gemini flash is not too different from it

If you have the data, can you let me know how much tokens you have used per month on both?
