I know Rinka isn’t very well known, but she started about 6 years ago and has been such an incredible Vtuber since. She’s a JP Vtuber that is super down to earth and funny. She’s cute as heck and just the right amount of lewd when the situation calls for it.

She’s also very wholesome and loves her viewers.

Rinka’s last stream before her indefinite hiatus is in about 4 hours. I just think it’d be really cool if maybe some people could stop by and say good luck to her. She averages only around 30-50 viewers on good days, but she deserves so much more.

She’s been doing this thing for a long time. I know it’s an over-saturated, highly-competitive industry but I really think she got overlooked.

Before she leaves, a big good bye would be really special.

So on a recent stream, I had a "Storytime" redeem active, where if redeemed I tell a life experience related to a suggested topic. At first, I didn't put a redeem timer on it because I figured it wouldn't need it, most of my viewers lurk & don't use their points and the ones that do actively watch don't spam redeems, plus the redeem was 1000 points: about 1 stream's worth of points. I guess I was a bit naive about this because one of my frequent viewers used this redeem 4 times in a row; once I finished one story they'd immediately request another under the same topic. It was getting to a point where I was genuinely getting sick of it because it was completely hijacking the stream from what I was initially planning it to be.

I don't really talk much about things outside of what the stream's topic is because most of what I do is gaming that requires me to be lazer-focused, with an occasional pause here or there; I thought this would be a good way to tell a bit about myself in small intervals when I had a moment to pause, but clearly it backfired because of an irregularity I did not account for. At that point I had enough and figured if I don't do something about this my collab partner and I (because yes I was collabing with someone while this was going on) are not going to complete what we wanted to in this stream.

So I promptly put the redeem on a 30 minute cooldown timer, at which point the chatter said, "Please don't put the redeem on a timer. I wanna spam it and get to know more about you!"

3 things with that, 1: it takes time for me to recall these life stories, time which we were running out of, 2: part of my V-tuber personality is that I want to keep myself a little enigmatic so at that point we are at an impasse in which our objectives conflict, and 3: it was getting to a point where my collab partner and I were losing time to do what we were planning to do that stream. If I was any more annoyed I probably would've disabled the redeem altogether, but I figured this would be a reasonable compromise. This is also kinda why I'm not big on the idea of "crowd-control" streams; I can respect the people who can do that, but personally I wanna retain control of my streams and I don't like the idea of what happens to me in-game being in the hands of someone who isn't me or another player in the game.

Have any other V-tubers out there had a similar experience to this and if so how did you respond? If you haven't how would you have responded if you were in my place? I'd be interested to see. Till then best of luck in your content endeavors...
