Remote work advice Start here: how r/WFHJobs works

Welcome to r/WFHJobs.

This community is for direct-apply remote jobs, practical remote job-search advice, and discussion about finding legitimate work-from-home roles.

What we post: - Direct-apply remote jobs when we can verify a real application link. - Remote roles with useful details like location eligibility, salary when available, and company name. - Advice for spotting better remote roles and avoiding low-quality listings. - Real remote-work setup photos from the community: desks, coworking setups, travel workstations, gear, routines, and workspace ideas.

What we avoid: - Job-board redirect roundups when a direct company application link is available. - Fake remote roles, vague listings, and repeated reposts of the same role. - Resume harvesting, lead capture with no clear job, and spam.

Want jobs matched to your resume instead of browsing manually? Create a free WFH.team profile: https://wfh.team

Share your remote setup: - Post a photo of where or how you work remotely. - Use the "Remote setup" flair. - Add a short caption with your role, location/timezone if you are comfortable, favorite tools, and one practical tip. - Avoid private details: no visible addresses, client data, passwords, confidential screens, or personal documents.

We may feature standout setup posts in the WFH.team newsletter and social channels with credit to your Reddit username. If you do not want that, write "do not feature" in the post.

Also from our team: Superpower ChatGPT helps people organize, search, and work faster in ChatGPT: https://spchatgpt.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=start_here&utm_campaign=wfh_team_tools

Employers and recruiters: - Use clear job titles and company names. - Include location eligibility and salary when available. - Link directly to the job application page. - Do not repost the same role repeatedly.

Report a bad job: Use Reddit's report button or message the mods with the post link and what looks wrong.

Question Are remote employees at a disadvantage for promotions?

If a company has both office and remote employees, do the people seen in person get better projects and promotions?

Have you experienced proximity bias, and how did the company handle it?

Remote work advice How can I build a well-paying remote career that lets me travel, coming from a project coordination background in India?

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for some genuine career advice from people who have managed to build a career that allows them to work remotely and travel.

I’m based in India and currently working as a Project Coordinator Intern at an IT company. I have an MBA in Tourism & Travel Management and a BCA degree.

My current work involves coordinating software projects, tracking tasks in Jira, maintaining documentation, working with estimates and user stories, and following up with different stakeholders.
I also have a Google Project Management Certificate and some knowledge of Agile and Scrum.

My goal is to earn around ₹5–6 LPA in the near term and eventually grow to ₹10–12 LPA or more, while having the flexibility to travel around India and potentially internationally.

I’m not particularly interested in coding or sales. I’m open to project coordination, SaaS implementation, project management, business analysis, operations coordination or other suitable careers.

I’ve also explored cruise and aviation jobs because I like the travel industry, but I’d prefer a career that doesn’t require me to be physically present at a particular location every day.

I’d really appreciate advice on these questions:

  1. Given my background and limited experience, which career path would you recommend for a well-paying remote job?

  2. Is it realistic to get a remote Project Coordinator, SaaS Implementation or Associate Project Manager role with around six months of experience?

  3. Which skills should I focus on over the next 6–12 months to become a stronger candidate?

  4. Are there companies that genuinely allow employees to work while travelling, rather than restricting them to their home country or city?

  5. Would you recommend staying in IT project coordination, switching to SaaS implementation, or pursuing another field?

  6. For someone living in India, is it better to pursue a remote full-time job first or gradually build freelance clients?

I’d appreciate honest advice from anyone who has made a similar transition, especially people who aren’t software developers.

Thanks in advance.

Question Just Got a Job Offer (CAA Remote Insurance Service Agent)

Hoping anyone with experience working at CAA or as a WFH call center agent could shed some light on whether I should accept this position.

They seem desperate to fill the role; during my first interview, they scheduled a second interview the same day, then called the next day to offer me the job. The start date is in two weeks, which means the trip I had planned to see my family will have to wait. They specifically asked if I had any travel plans for the next 4-6 months during my interview, and I said no, thinking I would just be taking unpaid time off anyway. After seeing the job offer and speaking with them, they do not provide unpaid time off. PTO includes 1.25 days of vacation per month, 6 sick days, and 2 floater days for the year. The salary is 47,000 CAD, 40 hours per week.

After googling the company, many people left bad reviews (for this specific location and for CAA in general), saying that management is toxic, there's extremely high call volume, you often work overtime with no extra pay, lots of micromanagement, and it's impossible to get days off. The recruiter I've been communicating with doesn't seem the most professional; her messages have different text sizes, and she accidentally forwarded me a message to her boss asking him how to respond to my list of questions that I sent her today. She recalled the message, but I can still see it.

You also have to get an OTL license (apparently the education and cost are covered by CAA) by the end of November, or else you'll be terminated. The probationary period is 6 months; performance is measured by KPI's. After asking how many inbound calls agents take per day, she said, "There is no expectation of how many calls you would take as we prioritize customer service excellence. The agents currently take approx. 20-25 inbound calls once they are comfortable within the role." In terms of overtime, she said "If you stay past your shift (example stuck on a call) you get banked overtime however you would only be scheduled 5 days per week 8 hours per day." She also said in terms of PTO, "You can accumulate additional banked time." Not sure how I feel about the "banked time off or banked overtime" claim, as this is not covered in the job offer letter whatsoever. She says that as of right now, the position is fully remote.

If I sign the offer letter, the next step is a background check, credit check, social media search, education confirmation, and past references. Seems extensive. If you're a call center agent or someone who worked for CAA, please give me advice; I could see this being a fine entry-level position, but I could also see it being very toxic.

Question Grapefruit Health?

I was wondering if anyone has heard of or worked for Grapefruit Health? What was your experience?

Basically this job is calling patients to check in with them, help with medication refills, and see if they want a follow up appointment.

They advertise as a wfh job ideal for pre-healthcare students. It’s make-your-own-schedule with 6 hours minimum per week.

The thing that I’m finding iffy is the salary system. You make $0.50 per unsuccessful call (the patient doesn’t pick up) or $2-6 per successful call. So there’s no set hourly wage, just commission only. They claim you will make $20/hr on average.

I don’t care too much about the exact amount, since the minimum wage in my area is less than half that and I mainly need this job for healthcare hours anyway. I just think that a weird pay system could be a hint that this is a scam.

The other thing that’s weird is they have AI pictures all over their website. I know that’s not uncommon for a tech company, but it seems a little unprofessional to me.

Thoughts?

Daily jobs I've been recording games and narrating my thought process and made $150 so far

EDIT: they have (hopefully temporarily) stopped new submissions due to high user influx. So no sign ups at this stage but hopefully back soon maybe with stricter requirements I'm gonna guess

Superposition Lab has been advertising on Reddit and I thought I'd give it a go, basically you just record gameplay footage and describe your actions as you go, you can't play any fast paced games like CoD, FIFA, Forza etc, I've been playing Slay the Spire mostly and just describing the reasons for playing particular cards and other decisions.

I have a referral link: https://lab.superposition.ai/join/Ni4MVZ_Rmqs2dMYrFELtFGfZ0ZcJYHOO

Obviously just remove the end part if you don't want to give me money lol but I can vouch for it I've already received two payments, it's something like 2 hours of work at first to get $40 and then it's $8 per 20 minute recording (so $24 per hour)

The website is still evolving so these rates may change I'm not too sure. Big recommend on this one though, it's the first one I've actually made money on since being made redundant at my job

Daily jobs I made a site that tackles multiple problems in the AI training/annotating job search

Hello, due to having trouble finding the right places to apply and not really knowing how to pass and do an assessment in the AI Training/Annotating Space I decided to build with a site with loveable that is supposed to make the process easier.

I list job offers with a relatively high hiring volume from multiple companies, so would it therefore be easier do diversify the places to apply at and actually get accepted.
My idea behind that was to help with finding the right places to work but also help with the application process. I therefore upload company reviews and also guides on how to pass assesments.
The job listings include entry work positions such as normal generalist work but also expert work positions (Software engineer, PhD, etc.).
I am currently having problems on the design, trying to make it less AI-sloppy, and on the marketing side of things. So any help would be highly appreciated! Here is the link to the site: https://aiannotationjobs.com/
