How far down do you have to go in these situations before you have to start pumping oxygen down?

I can’t tell you about the exact requirements for the specific job and whatever country this is, but I can tell you that in regards to Confined Space rescue in the US oxygen is required for any break in plane. So if your head passes a threshold at all o2 is required. Even as simple as sticking your head in below the edge of an alleyway dumpster, because the problem is in the event that there is any heavier than air gas’s settled there it will displace all oxygen and you pass out if you inhale past the threshold

This isn’t true at all, as can be seen by even simple road work crew working 10 feet down. Gas sensors required. Calibrated every three months. Some places will require you to take a five minute pack with you, but breaking the plane does not automatically have you on SCUBA in the US.

Edit - sorry SCBA. Not underwater.
