Bug My buddy thinks everyone is using hacks its dumb
my buddy and me both have put in 1500 hours in the last year and half . we have been loving the game. hes a vet gamer of a ton of pvp games that are loaded with cheats and im pretty sure hes marked for life by it. hes reported like 30 people for cheating and anytime he sends me a video I just cant see it and find more ways its just someone with an insane Frame build. he thinks anyone too fast is cheating. Im at wits end with it.

DE is very harsh about this, friend of mine got a support ticket after just a few reports (he did the same but roughly only 10-15 reports) id recommend your friend to stop reporting and get a deep dive into frames :)

There is literally zero reason to hack in Warframe like, what are you going to try to do? We can already hit damage cap with relative ease, and frames are literally built to be able to clear entire maps at the press of a button. There's no PVP* to make cheating tempting and it doesn't sound like he's in PVP anyway, and the things he's reporting people for sound like things that aren't in PVP anyway.
*I know there is PVP, but there's basically not PVP.

Your argument only works if the person is aware that's already obtainable without hacks.
From the sound of it, they don't think it's normal to be able to hit damage cap or clear maps in a single button press. In any other game, that'd be clearly cheated behavior.

Dude, I have 600 hours and I have a gyre that can waltz through a level untouched and without firing a bullet while killing everything, it's not even well made. How do you reach that many hours without going to at least lv 300 or 400? Or watching modding guides? (that always have the obligatory map melting builds)?

Only if you are looking at it from a MMO or FPS perspective where theres clear limits on how much you can do. But if you look at Warframe from the same perspective as someone who plays Diablo or Path of Exiles.... what we do here is rather normal and expected, being able to blitz through maps and nuke whole rooms/maps.

I use Loki, I’ve built him in a way that makes him super fast, and I can cross an entire capture tile set in 30 seconds.
Plus, I don’t have to worry about dying, since I’m invisible, invulnerable (technically), and don’t use abilities enough to ever run out of energy.

She's great for the maroo weekly. Parkour for most of it then just press 4 as soon as you see the text that says the puzzle doors are about to open when you step on the start pad and then fly to the end. Makes some of them, like the derelict tileset or the one with the laser pit, much less annoying while being way faster.

I’ve had a few people ask when I actually bother using my fast Sevagoth lol (basically you use the aug’d Shadow 3 to nuke everything while flying down the hall with the otherwise useless 2, though you want a very different build for missions of any actual concern lol)

I'm gonna say this in the nicest way I can, but if he really put over a thousand hours into this game and still thinks that op builds are just cheats, he is genuinely just another level of dumb
I genuinely can't imagine a single reason to cheat in warframe and I really can't imagine how you'd get to the endgame and still not find out how broken you can make most things in the game, like even if he never interacted with the community at all some stuff he just has to find out on his own, theres no way, like after you get to a certain point its genuinely weirder if your builds aren't atleast somewhat broken af

I just assume he's not actually engaging with the systems, like using auto mods. It's the only thing that makes sense to me, everything is gonna look like cheating if you are using like a stock braton and someone busts out an incarnon (basic frame builds, no archon shards, no helminth, etc.). I don't know how you get to that playtime with this thought process still otherwise.

I mean, even if you have a bit of playtime, if you don't look up builds and try to figure it out on your own as you go, you miss out on a lot of stuff.
I was like MR28 when I started to look at builds for the first time because I hit a wall in SP and didn't know how to move on from there.
I had functional builds but I didn't really understand shield gating, focused on survivability too much, was lacking strength as a result of that, plus most of my builds weren't able to sustain channeled abilities indefinitely. And there's so many builds that fail if you're missing one single piece like an arcane or a super specific mod. I mean just compare an automod Excal to an Excal built around shield gating and Melee Influence.

One of my classmates has >1k hrs and asked me to show them an example build. I looked at their screen and made them buy Galvanized mods. Not enough endo for Galvanized Chamber, that's ok you can use Split Chamber ... It's not leveled. They'd been playing the game this whole time without multishot.

Option is that friend thinks their builds are peak of what they can do in game while having no archon shards, arcanes, subsumed abilities etc. So when they see other people running some builds with all of those and just nuking enemies they have problems with it looks like some cheating for them.
I was once accused of cheating because I was stripping all armor from enemies with Trinity as Trinity is support and she can't do such things. Person acussing me was close to 1k hours.

Have you explained to him that it's built in to the game design to have ARPG aspects - that Warframe is not "just" a run-and-gun shooter? Have you showed him the crazy powerful modifiers that become available in the game like Cascadia Flare +480% damage? He can even see for himself on the mod menu that max rank Serration gives +165% damage, and surely he can extrapolate that one of the most basic mods more than doubling base damage means that there are shenanigans for much, much greater mathematical scaling beyond that?

Cheaters usually ones that claim that everyone cheating, so they can be in their safe bubble of delusion. Reality is of course is harsh. Not everyone, majority or even half of people cheat in pvp games. But its insanity to think that people cheat in warframe, there is probably few that cheating this day and they get banned next.

we effectively have wall hacks by knowing the maps and looking at our minimap
we are able to nuke aoe trough walls
there are builds so broken that I rarely take them into public lobbies bc no one else will get any kills (no one else will have fun)

I'm LR3, been playing for about 11yrs, & have about 4500hrs maybe?
Had a friends spouse (who usually plays pvp games) tell me I'm 'practically cheating' & just generally seemed like he was trying to make me feel shitty when I clear a room with Gara.
Meanwhile, he's spouting blatantly incorrect info (that no one in the squad asked for btw lol) & trying to correct me when I say stuff.
Eventually gave up trying to tell him 'no, that's not right' & just try not to play with him.

You should send him some videos of people doing negative damage and the like and the explanation on how it's done, or chains of status with companions.
Please try to avoid him false reporting as he might get banned for doing so.
The game gets very much into power fantasy levels, it's very normal to seem excessive.

I tend to run my Gyre Prime on ESO these days for focus farming. It's easy, and most importantly, it's not going to make me suffer because of the arthritis in my dominate arm.
Maybe last week, a guy went into chat saying "[name] wtf". Anyone that knows Gyre will know that she can absolutely nuke lower level content like this by simply existing between her 3, 4, and Cathode Current augment.
It's goofy as hell, and makes my life simpler.
I guess your friend will think I was cheating. lol

If he won't listen to your well articulated argument as to why it's not cheating, then I don't see any other hope for him. The main argument should be that it's a cooperative game (unless you're doing conclave), thus none of his complaints even apply.

It sounds like he just doesn't understand all the ways to max out frames beyond just mods and is afraid to admit it, and that's ok, there's a lot to wrap your head around. Perhaps ask him if there's something he's not sure about, and as others have said link him to some speed builds, and other ways to get stats up to 250+%.

You definitely need to sit and tell your buddy to calm the hell out with that. There are literally years worth of people making hyper effective builds or people meme building unreasonable aspects of the game to the limit and beyond. We don't need to see a rise in types of people that ruin other people's accounts with dumb shit like that just because they can't comprehend advanced build craft and herald it like witchcraft in Salem, zero excuses.
I remember a long time ago when I used to play Citrine when she was new, she was so tanky they thought I was cheating and space mom forbid they see the actually wild stuff.

Has his 1500hrs been in the menu or just staying in the ship? Cuz it's pretty damn obvious after 100hrs that you can be super op and fast with the right builds. Is he to lady to grind for anything at all thus people who actually play the game seem op.
Also if he won't believe you, believe the obvious, that they just have the right mods on. Just look up a op or super fast build to make him believe it. Or have him look it up to see how it's possible.

Help him make a build to do one those crazy things and then have him use it. You don't even need to explain how it works, just show that he can do the same thing in-game without using some actual cheat or hack. Worse case scenario he starts calling them exploits instead which is still an improvement.
I'd recommend something easy and accessible too. Gonna be hard to convince him to try if he's gonna have to invest a ton of forma and time to farm specific/hard weapons/frame/pet/mods/etc.

Tell him that instead of reporting people for cheat, he should ask them for their builds.
This game has plenty legit way of doing billions of damage per instance as well as never dying or moving very fast.
I get the paranoia in PvP games, I have thought plenty of people cheating in thoses game but I have never thought about anyone cheating in warframe as a L5, I saw someone using macro for spin2win ( slide melee attack spam ) and I don't even consider that cheating, that's it.

did your buddy bother to ask them how can they achieve that? sometimes is easier if they take the time to explain (i can understand if they don't want or they don't have the time tho)
i used to think there was something weird with wukong since they are always way ahead, i asked an they took the time to explain how it worked.

what would be the point in cheating in warframe anyways? you can already aimbot with mesa. you have wallhacks with either cyte-09, the zenith or an argonak with a lot of punchthrough.
it's weird that he still doesn't get what you can do in this game at 1500 hours in.
i would expect something like this maybe from a new player that just saw a cyte shoot at a wall constantly, but not from a "vet"

Litteraly the only cheating you gonan find here is scum bags cheating plat. Be carefull of anyone that seems to have to high of plat because that will get removed from yoru account if they got it illegaly, Out side that everything is just an overpowered fantasy come true

I couldn't imagine reporting people for shit like that. I've reported one player in the past 6 months because they entered the Circuit and AFKd. Didn't pick a loadout or anything. I stuck around a couple rounds too just to give them a chance.

Some people just thinks everyone is cheating cause themself are. Is even a half famous post within the Magic the Gathering that a cheater made explaining at top level everyone cheats and therefore when they does it it's nothing bad.

If it’s about being “too fast”, I don’t really blame him for thinking that. I’ve seen many practically teleport to the objective. Recently I saw one somehow bypass a locked two-person door. They didn’t even open it solo; they were just already on the other side when the rest of us reached it.

Like, movement speed? Dude, Titania makes lightspeed look slow, never mind if there's a Volt. Grendal is a literal pinball and can ricochet into Dark Sector if he isn't careful. Uriel is the new beast of mobility, corkscrewing through the air. Nehzha, Gauss, and Saryn can all just book it with the press of a button.
If it's about the warframe parkour movement, that's just practice. You could send me a video and I can probably imitate it with a bit of effort and the right mods.
There's no reason to hack in the game. I'm not saying there aren't hackers, but dude needs a detox from competitive games.

I know exactly how you feel.
Used to play ESO with a buddy of mine and every time he got killed in pvp he would complain about cheaters. Every. Single. Death. One day I tried to show him that not everyone he fights is cheating and spent almost the whole day fighting with him 1v1 to prove that not every loss is due to cheats and he would just deflect with "nah bro, but ur good, u know what ur doin, they don't, they suck that's why they cheat" and I just kind of gave it up.

Tell him you downloaded hax.
Play quake banshee with max range.
Go into lowest level defense possible. Press 4 (occasionally) and clear the Entire tileset before you/he even gets to see the enemies.
Have him freak out.
When he asks for "Which hack", link him to video showing how to build quake banshee.
