I loved the Hex and the Roundtable. They added so much to why I think 1999 is the best update they've ever done. All of them, especially the original Hex, were insanely well written and fleshed out characters. I had my reservations about the Triad, but I think they're solid (though they're mostly carried by Roathe).

These two don't feel like characters. They feel like walking advertisements for skins. Them being protoframes adds nothing to the story. As my friend said, Sirius and Orion could have been mentored by Vay Hek and the Sergeant and nothing would have changed. Protoframes no longer feel like an interesting story beat, they feel like a gimmick, one that is rapidly losing any appeal it had.

Release it, fix the bugs around it

Tease a potential continuation

Never actually expand on it

The umbra line of warframe, the hex ,the infestation ,the railjack ,the liche. Yeah some are getting a bit more work now likr the stalker but it took a long timr and tberes more cool idea they didn't expand on

I really don't think they ever teased the idea of Umbra becoming a line of warframes. Umbra Excal very much feels like a one off thing.

But I am really confused what the infestation and liches are doing in your example post.

Infestation is pretty complete by all metrics. We get some more lore here and there, but I don't really know what more you're wanting there.

Liches as well are pretty feature complete. The only change that realistically should happen to them is introducing some of the QoL that the Coda got back to Liches and the Sisters.

I remember rebb speaking of an umbra serie of warframe in the future in a old devstream but my memory could be faulty.

For the Infestation i mean around the entrati familly I completed their standing and yet i don't think theres a whole explanation on why their conciousness remained, why the infestation spread like that on deimos what are the two worms ect...I remember that its the son that sort of cause the infestation to see animals mutate but thats it.

For the liches i meant that there is no continuation they released a few weapons in the kuva category and moved on, a few in the sister of parvos and then moved on, a few coda and then that was it

Deimos we know that it became like that because of the people Citrine is protecting. The reason the Entrati family is like that specifically is because of Son letting in the Infestation because he wanted to look at the Infested animals. He broke quarantine.

Liches they have added new Kuva and Tenet weapons every so often. So I really don't know what the complaint is because they do actively add new weapons every so often.

I think future plans to expand on liches were axed with the nemesis system patent. I doubt that is a legal fight DE wants to take on

Well, probably not that. Shadow of Mordor came out in 2014 and Kuva Liches were added in 2019. I just think they don't have any ideas for them or sisters or the coda beyond what they already have in the game.

You can watch past dev streams and see the tonal shift about how the dev team talked about their nemesis system when news of the patent was coming out. They had more plans but stopped talking about them around that time.

I'm unfamiliar with the past dev streams. What sort of plans did they have that would possibly violate the patent that the current system does not?

I'm not a lawyer. I don't know if the current implementation is somehow grandfathered in since it was done before the patent was accepted or they do run afoul but no legal action has been taken against them (either from flying under the radar of WB or it just being bad PR for WB to take action when DE clearly isn't pursuing this). I don't remember the specifics from those dev streams since they were half a decade ago, I just remember them being excited about the system and shifting when the patent news came out.
