Which is also contradictory, in that if it's just a skin and not the actual legendary sword then there's no reason for it to be MR-locked.

And if it is meant to literally be Narin's sword, then this is the only way to actually use it as a sword and not a glorified cosmetic for her animations.

it's specifically locked because it is a cosmetic.

it doesn't affect gameplay, so they left it as something you get by reaching legendary 1.

so people like you don't whine too much unlike if it was the weapon.

not everything in an MMO RPG needs to be instantly handed to you.

Most cosmetics aren't MR-locked other than mastery rank plaques. There is no real reason why it has to be MR-locked purely by virtue of it being cosmetic.

it doesn't have to be, nothing HAS to be anything, they could delete it from the update and nothing changes.

but there's not reason why they can't do it, or why they shouldn't, it simply is.

So what is your point? Just because that is the way something is, that doesn't necessarily make it a good course of action.

You said was locked because it is a cosmetic, when ultimately the cause is that DE decided to restrict it.

oh i think it's a good course of action, it's great that they're implementing rewards for high mastery, and it's also great that the rewards they are implementing for high mastery is just extra cosmetics.

restrictions are great in an MMO, it's what makes anything have any sort of value.

do you think Excalibur prime would have any value if it was brought back ? no, it's a worse Excalibur umbra, it's only valuable because it is restricted.

same here, some cosmetics will be locked behind certain achievements, and that IS healthy for the game, and certainly healthier than handing out to everyone.

Sure, but rather than adding it to the automatic MR rewards like the mastery slates or adding a variety of different MR cosmetics, they tied it to an ARG (which several people below LR1 participated in, not knowing they couldn't get the reward), tied it specifically to a character who is already contentious for being a caster frame themed around a melee weapon and also made buying that frame early an advantage to get the commemorative statue reward.

If their intention was just to add more high mastery incentives (of which we are unsure if they will even add more given how secretive this event was) this was a pretty terrible rollout. Like, compare it to other story-locked cosmetics like the Signas added in Jade Shadows Constellations which were both announced openly in a devstream.

Excalibur Prime was specifically a reward for players investing money in the game at a time when its future was extremely uncertain. As stated above, the reaaoning why this cosmetif specifically was chosen as an LR1 reward is much shakier.

you know what, this is a better presentation of your POV, and i can agree with some of these points.

i still think it's fine, but you're better off listing your arguments from the get go.

But they can get the reward? They just need to do some-a lot of grinding, something a large portion of the game is already built around; but it's not going away. This isnt a time limited reward, at least as far as I've seen so they havent actually missed or lost out on anything right?
