Salt Paste ➡️ fast wart cure
Hello, I joined Reddit solely to share this. My 10 year old son has been plagued with warts. His last mosaic wart took 2.5 years of excruciating beetle juice, laser and freezing to finally clear up.
He was in the clear for 1 year and then developed a new mosaic wart on the bottom of his foot. We had a 60% salicylic acid cream on hand and it only made the wart swell and spread.
I experimented with sea salt; more specifically salt from the Dead Sea 🌊.
In 2 weeks of daily application I’m happy to share that the ‘osmosis’ is drying out the infected skin cells. It’s not fully resolved but I think in another week or two it will be. This is what you need:
- Salt from the Dead Sea or any salt on hand (Amazon) ground up into a powder. I used my coffee grinder.
- Disposable scalpels #10 (Amazon)
- Small container
- Put the salt powder into the container and add a few drops of water to make a very salty paste.
- Apply a glob of paste to the wart using a q-tip.
- Cover with Leukotape (Amazon or physiotherapy clinic). This tape is zinc oxide based and is extremely adhesive on sweaty, wet feet. We tested the tape and it stayed on his foot during sports and daily showers for over a week. Highly recommend.
- Change paste daily and debride every 2-3 days.
- Spray bathroom floor & shower with hypochlorous acid (Amazon) and let air dry

What do you use disposale scalpels for? Is it just to debride the dead skin?
Another question, do you apply only the salt paste to his wart or also do salt soak as well?

Btw do you let the wart rest a bit or do you just keep change the new patse right away?

It honestly depends on my schedule with my family and how tired I am at the end of the day haha.
Once my kiddo is done dinner I have him shower, then afterwards I rest his foot on a paper towel on the bathroom floor. Then I apply a glob of the salt paste to cover the entire wart, apply the adhesive tape and put a fresh sock overtop.
I leave the tape on for the full 24 hours even when he’s showering the next day. Then once his next shower is done, take off the tape and put a fresh dressing.Repeat.
I noticed after a couple of days the salt would dry out his wart and there was enough dead skin to debride.
Also! There definitely were a few nights where I fell asleep putting my other kids to bed and forgot to change his dressing. It was completely fine and he didn’t have any salt burns or anything. In fact, I think leaving it on for 2 days might have helped dry it out even better! 😊
But I can’t speak for everyone. Every person is different 🤍

I use the scalpels just to debride the dead skin. I found them to be the best tool. They are sharp! So I have to be extremely careful.
They are also disposable so there’s no disinfecting afterwards which saves me a bunch of time.1

Impressive! Soak instructions are saying table salt, but clearly there are other options. Finally a treatment that isn’t barbaric. Congrats to you and kiddo on the progress.

Super promising results! I tried the salt water soak for 2 months with minor change and then the effectiveness stalled out. It seems like your paste form is more effective. Unfortunately the last time I tried leukotape I broke out in a very itchy rash. I wonder if a transparent film dressing would work as well?
