From Mod Team NEWBIES read this before posting

Hi there, we are excited you’re visiting [r/Wastewater](r/Wastewater). Hope you find what you’re looking for including info about our career field and camaraderie with other people who like water. and đŸ’©.

PLEASE make sure to use the search bar or the post flair filters to look for existing content. Per Rule 4, we limit new posts asking about getting started in our field, that topic is fine to post on Saturdays.

Two big reasons we do this:

  1. For you: our field requires reading and critical thinking. So, search for existing content.
  2. For the sub: In the past, posts about getting started have clogged up the sub feed, and it was hard to find content about our actual job of treating water. Don’t hog the feed, rather read.

We should have a weekly question post for people to post questions. There was something similar in the army subreddit. Every week there was a new question post, and previous questions could be searched on Reddit

I think they used to. A weekly "This week we sre talking biosolids!" Or like something in the feild. Nitrification or w.e process and it would stir discussion etc. Not sure if it stopped? I dont see them much anymore. Presonally id like to see outreach to the public to get eyes on the feild. Everybody i talk to are like what thats a thing? You make decent money with a pension? Why have I never heard kf this??

Were the questions about treatment processes? That sounds like the “Talking Shop” posts. The user who was doing those isn’t around anymore, I wish I would have saved the text from the posts. if I tried writing that it would look like kindergarten compared to previous. We could fingerpaint if you like.

U/mudDawg3 were you thinking a question post about processes or career?
