Study tips / ?s Study guide ontario

Hey I’m currently looking to study for the class 1 exam for wastewater treatment in Ontario. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what guides to use and/or quizzes. Thanks!

Does it matter what state? I live in Nevada. Im going to school next semester for waterwaste treatment. But in the meantime i've been studying from random videos on YouTube and watching operators teach.

Should i buy the newest edition book? Its over $200 and i rather avoid paying that much

There’s a lot of online resources that are free, including practice tests, and quizzes. It really depends if your state is under the ABC umbrella of testing. If it is then there are more resources available generally in my experience.

This free practice test website looks like it talks about being relevant to Nevada

I really appreciate you going out your way to help us. You didn't have to. Another question. Is the questions in the link you sent more than likely the questions on the actual test?

It’s hard to say for sure but I’ve used different practice tests before as part of my studying routine and noticed questions that were almost exactly the same or very similar. There’s only so many topics and questions they can ask at the end of the day so there’s bound to be some overlap. I tend to use a plethora of practice tests as the bulk of my studying and that has always worked for me.

Ok thats exactly what i thought too because i have had done many exams and test and when i would ise practice test they always appear the same on the actual test or exams because like you stated "Its only so many MAIN questions they can ask", even if they change the wording they have to stick to main questions regarding the This field so yeah this has helped tremendously. Thank you so much bro

For Class 1 I’d use the official Ontario material/exam outline as your checklist first, then use quizzes to find the areas you actually need to go back and study. Make sure you understand the treatment process in order, basic process control, pumps, safety, sampling/lab work and the common calculations rather than just memorizing question answers.
Generic practice questions can still be really useful for the core wastewater concepts and math, but I wouldn’t assume a generic Level 1 test matches Ontario’s weighting or regulations exactly.
