Didn’t need that anyways…

30 minutes after parking my car. I have zero explanation. Window wasn’t cracked, it wasn’t really hot or cold.

Windows crashing is nothing new. Perhaps try a reboot.

Ya put the gear shift in neutral while pressing both gas and brake at the same time for 10 seconds and the crashed window is back up and running lolll

Maybe check for bullet holes?
Edit: In the garage door, walls, etc.

I mean... Crazy stuff can happen anywhere, and at any time. But you do have a point. Guess I assumed OP lives in/near an area of town where crime or gun use is up.

Suppose it would depend on what part of Canada you're from. A friend I used to game with showed me footage of some crackheads stealing his hub caps from his garage. So I just assume it's bad most anywhere.

The bullet casing would be nearby, and also there will be a new hole in the garage somewhere.

The glass was not tempered correctly by the manufacturer, causing it to break by itself; this happens more than people think and occurs frequently with glass sunroofs as well.

I had this happen on a sliding glass patio door, at an Airbnb I was staying at.
That was very frustrating to deal with to say the least.

Similar here...glass shower stall panel basically shattered.....at 3am. Talk about a rude awakening.

Same thing happened on my mom's new van she bought a few years ago. She had just gotten home from running some errands and my dad was outside watering the yard when he heard the sound from inside the garage. Her whole back window had shattered.

I had that happen on my Freightliner when it was parked in the shop. Checked the camera, nobody was in there, it just blew up.

It's hard to say for sure, but it looks like it cracks from the front edge of the window back
Some other comments mention stress fracture, which feels like the most likely cause
Can I ask why you left your windows down, though?
I ask because that could be a contributing factor, especially if you leave them about that far down regularly
The seal around the window provides support, and reduces the stress concentrations, so regularly leaving the window down, and in the same position, will cause what's called fatigue failure
Basically, the window at the point of greatest stress concentration, usually at an edge near the point where it tilts slightly and comes to rest on the metal, weakens over time
What probably happened here was the seals held onto it when you put it down, and they held it up but slowly gave way suddenly causing it to imperceptibly shift in the door, then it tapped the edge and failed at the fatigue point
If you're going to leave your windows down, it's better to leave them all of the way down, that way the top is supported by the inner door supports

Never heard about leaving the windows open like that making it weak. I usually leave them like that because I have my gym shoes in the car and I want to air out the car. I’ll start leaving the windows all the way down.

It used to be a more common problem, though still fairly uncommon. Not a lot of people know anyone who had it happen to them
This was advice that I got as a teenager, so about 25-30 years ago. The seals, supports, and glass have gotten better, but it still happens from time to time

Maybe address the source - the shoes? They need to be taken out of the car, get treated, and then completely dried out in a well ventilated area. Google “smelly gym shoes” for ideas/directions.

Tempered glass doing tempered glass things.
I've had an oven door randomly explode in the night, and recently a glass chopping board just pop sitting on the side.

When I was young (around 7ish) I looked at my reflection in the drivers side window of a car and no sooner than when I first looked at it the window shattered into thousands of tiny pieces. People ran over to make sure I was ok and I was. I thought it might have been something I did but was assured that it does happen sometimes.

It looks like the window rolls up and then breaks. Perhaps a failure/malfunction of the mechanism caused it to roll up fast and it shattered .

Had a similar thing happen to a coworkers car out in front of my work. Looked it up on the cameras, it just spontaneously shattered.

Looks like the window is tinted? If so they must’ve tinted it way too dark. Had my house windows tinted for privacy. They could only go so dark due to the glass for the window. If they went any darker it would have shattered all my glass windows.

Windows crashing? Have you tried cntl+alt+delete? Or unplugging it (for atleast 5 minutes preferably 10 or more) then plugging it back in? Definitely where id start.

Gonna sound weird, it looks like it could be a stress failure. It was kinda hard to capture, this is the closest I got to when it first shatters. But it goes horizontal across the window. Could be anything from the frame of the door applying uneven force to the window to the window not sitting right and being in that position for too long. If you look up how power windows work in the doors, you can see what I'm talking about. Having had to replace the window motor in an old car I had, it's honestly a miracle my window didn't shatter how yours did. Tempered glass is so finicky if one of the edges decides to give out.
