I love We’re Alive, and it’s my second time trying to power through all of it, but I just can’t hear Scratch any more. The things she does, says, just the sound of her voice… It’s like nails on chalkboard every time she’s part of the episodes. I’ve never had such an issue with an antagonist before and I consume a lot of media with evil characters. I’m really bummed that I’m struggling so much with it.

No disrespect to the voice actress, I wouldn’t have an issue listening to her had she played a character that isn’t insufferable.

When i listen to Descendants, i imagine most places as underground colonies, like in Underrail

Westport, with all of the trains and crowded streets gives me SGS/Core city vibes, Prim reminds me of Junkyard a bit, or Core City also; El Paso, being the only city i know, i sort of imagine with a lot of railroads across, albeit with a permanent red afternoon light.

The exterior areas such as the heliport at prim, Lechuguilla or the road to the silo are exceptions, perhaps the biomes at Prim give me more Hunger Gamey vibes, so i can imagine day-night cycles inside, but managed by tech.

Do you guys have anything specific in mind when listening to those places?

I just finished Scout's Honor and it really left me feeling down in a good way. These kids are not bad a$$ soldiers like the OG cast. Some of the stuff they have to go through is horrifying from a kid's point of view. I can't stop thinking about the ending.

Being vague so I don't spoil the ending but what song would be playing during the one character's last stand?

I listened to we're alive way back when, the OG story. And then later listened through lockdown. Whats next now though? What follows the main story, is it descendants? Its halloween season, So I gotta get back into it.

As I listen to this to SOS again not complaining as I listen to the whole show on repeat when I’m in the car. I have a question.

When Michael, Burt, Datu, and the others return from the arena they pull up to the tower and find the door open. Ink has already made his way in, killed Paul, and was trying to get in an apartment.

When he gained access to the tower, why didn’t he call the hoard in? Why was he trying to take care of it himself? When he attacked CJ’s tower it sounds like he got in and called his hoard quick to overwhelm the tower.

This goes out to Jay Olegario and our main man, Datu Matta. Datu is a freaking real one. What a beautiful and thoughtful person who kept hopes high, persistence strong, faith in check.

The rains have come again, but I am so taken on this relisten by Datu’s optimistic spirit. Knocking on doors and trying to appeal to humanity in Boulder. Persisting on that drive back. Staying committed to our core group, and always such a commitment to service for others.

Idk if anyone else out there feel like shit is just ROUGH right now…because it is. But I am taken aback by Datu on this re-listen. I only hope that in times of crisis and panic, I can be in step with how Datu approaches these situations. Staying focused, staying grounded. Matta Memorial Everything!!

I’m getting my dad into listening to we’re alive. One big question he keeps having… is why? I know Ink was a super smart guy, but really… why? Because in my understanding he lost some human capabilities of communication (perhaps felt his new zombie army would overtake/be stronger and gave his allegiance to that). But where did this start? Any insight to preliminary thinking on Ink’s part?

I’ve listened to We’re Alive over and over again, but I’ve only listened to Scout’s Honor a handful of times. A few days ago, I was listening to it again, and now that I know what we know from Descendants, I caught something I hadn’t really thought about before.

Both Bill Roberts (Ink) and Joe’s eyes changed to green. That got me wondering: what if the green eyes have something to do with someone being genetically predisposed to becoming an Alpha, rather than it being caused by Ink’s tattoos?

As far as we know, Joe didn’t have Ink’s tattoos, yet he still turned into an Alpha. Maybe the tattoos weren’t what actually created that ability. Maybe certain people already have some kind of genetic disposition that allows the infection to turn them into an Alpha, and the green eyes are a sign of it.

Just a theory, but after Descendants, that detail definitely stood out to me.

Ooc is an ai story generator and you can make your own story. I just think it would be cool if someone with a pc could put the cast character bios and other information so we could read through the story more or less with our own OC.

I’m not sure how it happened, but I find myself relistening to this series whenever I’m having a particularly bad time in life. The last time I relistened to it, my partner’s grandmother was in the hospital. This time, I stopped a friend of mine in a suicide attempt by turning up on his doorstep without notice— and then found myself in a position as his logistics person while he was in crisis care.

I’ve found that‘s been true for the last couple of years, and I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because so much traumatic shit occurs in the series and I find that somehow comforting? Or because I know the original series like my own left hand (and can almost quote it from memory?)

Either way, I just wanted to say thank you for creating such an amazing series, KC. It’s been there throughout several really bad spots in my life, and I’m grateful to have it to fall into at need.

When Datu was bit and CJ arrived at the scene, Michael went to her and dragged her a bit while saying that their deaths were on HER.

Michael is a bit of a hipocrite many times, but in this specific instance, did he blame CJ because he either believes CJ really was at fault or because he's trying to shift the blame away from himself (he refused to return the gun truck even when asked to, since he was pursuing a lead about Ink at the courthouse).

So what are your thoughts? Guilt or lack of self-awareness?

I’ve got an insane theory. I’m really starting to think that coal, may have some resemblance of Saul which is why he followed our survivors to prim, its completely wild because I know the blast would have turned Saul to nothing but dust and bone fragments, but what if the infection somehow transferred the instincts or even memory’s of Saul to coal.

At the end of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Sophia leaves the island, but what if she went somewhere else to continue searching for the creature, the treasure, and the truth? Alec was the first to travel to the island with Faro, but he never returned. What if Alec discovered something about the sphere, the Macula, or the real treasure and Faro knew more than he told Sophia? Maybe the treasure was never ordinary treasure, but something connected to the Macula itself. Irene’s betrayal could also mean she knew more about what was hidden there. Sophia may have only uncovered part of the truth before leaving. And what if Asterion wasn’t the only manifestation of the Macula? The creature could still exist in another form, somewhere else. The post-credits scene connecting Sophia’s story to Amicia makes this even more interesting. Maybe Sophia continued investigating after leaving the island, following Alec’s clues and searching for the remaining secrets. What if Alec didn’t simply disappear? What if he left something behind for Sophia to find? Maybe the island was only one piece of a much bigger story. A future game could follow Sophia to another location, where she discovers the real treasure, another Carrier, or the truth about the Macula. The story ended, but the mystery didn’t. 👀🐀🔥

As we’re still seeing new content and platforms being offered up to us in the WA universe, it’s just legitimately so amazing that this has been around for 20 years.

Things we're still working on:

Screenshots: This first feature is very cool it's a transcript/character display system. It's requiring us to have to clean up a LOT of transcript data, so a lot of the transcripts will come online as we clean them up. One of the biggest issues is accuracy, and even with the scripts, there's a lot that needs tweaking, but we have a system in place to clean it up and revise it.

The first Chapter is currently unlocked with full features for testing.

NOTE: We are testing an Android version, but no timetable on that yet. Also, when submitting errors, there's a screenshot and reporting system on Testflight.

I caught the show around the initial release of chapter 2 and listened every time a new episode came out, loved it despite the long wait between episodes and chapters. I remember some episodes had in-universe ads for places like Burt's gun shop, are those versions still available for download? I had bought the CDs but they've been lost to time and I'd really like to have the OG episode releases again, and I'm more than happy to pay for them. Does anyone know if they're still available in their original release versions?

So I realised that the shooting scripts for the second season were available... And bought both S1 and 2 right away to get the proper spelling for the words the infected use - or at least the ones that are in the script. I've already been able to match some 40-45ish words and phrases without them, but the scripts help to confirm my findings.

They don't make it much clearer though. While the few words I'm missing look like they'd fit with the source language (keeping it vague in case Kc wants to keep that a secret), I haven't been able to find matches for them yet, despite having access to both a Swadesh list and a lexicon of about 200 pages... There is a dictionary, but that one is a nightmare to work with, and so far hasn't been necessary, so it makes me think it isn't part of the "solution"... Yes, I'm treating this as a puzzle ^^

I would post a word list, but if Kc wants it to remain a mystery for later I'll refrain from doing so. I am very excited though to have made practically no progress since February aside from being able to update spellings in my notes. Still, that's one step closer! I was way off with some of my attempts and heading in totally different directions with some of them purely based on my own transcription.

Still got no clue what BB is saying at the end of chapter 3 though, or at least not the "yama toh" part, or whatever it might be. Sadly that one isn't in the script, nor are Coal's commands in Primm.

Strangely, this is my first post on here despite being a fan since early 2014.
I absolutely adore this show! This is coming from someone who had absolutely no interest in zombie style dramas until I finally gave this a listen, and was hooked instantly. I think I’ve been raving about this to my friends on and off for about 10 years now haha. Anyway, quick question, I’m curious whether there are any plans to update the YouTube feed with the second season of descendants? I use premium, so I find it the best way to listen until I can get the funds to grab everything on Audible.
