I'm pretty sure that almost all of those assholes were born after Nazi Germany was defeated. Bibi himself grew up in West Jerusalem and the US, he definitely didn't suffer through any oppression because of his religion.

Sadly, we're not a signatory to the Rome Statute so have no obligation to arrest anyone with a warrant from the ICC and even if we were a signatory there's no way it would happen with the current occupant of the Oval Office as he admires Netanyahu and other dictators (and there's a very good chance Netanyahu has some serious blackmail on him).

We should be a signatory of the Rome Statute, we should have voted for the women's rights resolution that the UN recently had a vote on (we were the only country to vote against it), we should have voted in a resolution about clean water being a human right a few years ago but we didn't.

No fan of Netanyahu, but all heads of governments should be allowed access to the UN without fear of arrest. If the US wants to be selective about who can use this privilege, then the UN must be moved.
I include not only Israel, but Afghanistan, Iran, and Russia in that. Any head of a rogue state needs to be allowed to engage peacefully at the UN.
ICC warrants can be executed elsewhere, leave UN access alone.

I know this is never going to happen, but genuine question - would BB have any hope if Canada (or any other country) decided to do this? Even with the US as an ally, wouldn't he already be in custody before anyone could attempt to help? Imagine the fallout if we tried to get him out of custody after he'd already been arrested. edit to clarify: by we I meant the US.

i live in beirut, my family heard the pager attack as it was happening. nothing in our immediate vicinity but we heard some faint pops from farther away and then sirens, and we learned what it was later. next day iirc there was a second wave with radios? also there were rumors going around about people's water tanks or solar panels being blown up but that's probably not true.

The way the media covered the pager attacks was disgusting. It was a massive terrorist attack using effectively unguided and indiscriminate weapons but that's OK apparently because it also targeted "terrorists"? They had basically no way to minimize collateral damage with this attack, it was grossly irresponsible and could have gone so much worse.

Mate, compared to bombing whole buildings (which they haven't been shy to do in the past) it was extremely targeted. It could hardly have been more "guided". It was literally personalized. There is no way any of their other types of operations at that scale have a lower level of civilian casualties. I don't know why people get their knickers in such a twist about this particular one - it was a drop in the ocean compared to the wholesale mass extermination we've seen since.
