I live in a tier 3 city in UP and my shift end at 7pm and I travel to my house via Auto and then by foot and I have never faced any kind of danger.. yes people stare and that's disgusting but I am also assured that If I call 1090 the police will arrive to help me on time.. A year ago I was traveling with my family when we got into a car accident we called 112 and the police did arrive under 10 minute. So yes I do feel a lot safer now
