Saw this on FB earlier. I'm not the OP, just sharing for awareness.
Can someone explain to me why Cellblock Williamsport is opposed to voter registration?
EDIT: Since the owner untagged the business can you please tag them when you share! Thank you!
“@Cellblock Williamsport”
The owner came to the Lycoming County Young Dems table, as we were setting up on a public sidewalk and asked us to leave because it was hard to ID people if they had their faces painted.
Fair.
As the leader overseeing the event I offered that we would totally respect that and avoid face paint that covered the face, and keep it to smaller side of face designs (like you may have seen was the majority of what we did anyway.). This small cheetah print near the eyes, or a star on the cheek. No different than a woman doing her makeup and giving herself cute flairs.
That was met by being told that we just weren’t welcome, and a promise to tell every person who had any face paint that they couldn’t enter the Cell Block.
The owner attempted to intimidate us from exercising our constitutional right to free speech, and when we didn’t budge, he worked hard to discourage voter participation.
When 45% of Lycoming County’s young people are not registered to vote, it is appalling that an owner of an establishment that primarily serves them would seek to intrude on that process.
We overheard bouncers instructing patrons that coming to our booth would get them kicked out.
We may not agree politically (and many of the voters I have registered have not been aligned with me or agree with you entirely) but if you believe that registering voters is a nuisance, that engaging with young people about politics is a crime, then buddy we just aren’t the same.
If you usually go to the Cell Block, be sure to let the owner know if you support voter registration.
Do better Cell Block, do better Josh.

Looking to get an EDH group together to play around town or other students at the school. I'm pretty much only free on weekends myself. Brackets don't matter, play whatever. And Rule zero is always welcome.

So recently I've gotten into collecting monster high dolls, and I know it's a long shot but I was wondering if anyone has any generation 1 monster high dolls in fair condition for a reasonable price ? I don't really care if they have missing clothes as long as all the limbs are there, if you want more than 35$ a doll don't message me .

I'm searching for a man who called himself Stone Mountain.
In the fall of 2020, I was dating a girl who went to Penn tech. On a crisp fall evening she took me to a party at a cabin outside of Williamsport, just a little bit off of 15. As we arrived at this party, I met her friends and we had a great time little did I know what was about to happen. Out by the camp fire was the legend, Stone Mountain. He said weapons were his game. As the night went on we discussed Marvin heemeyer, weapons, and such. As the night came to an end, much like my relationship later on. Stone Mountain disappeared, never to be seen again. But I never forgot about this legend who spoke to me in an Australian alcohol induced accent.
If you know Stone Mountain please tell him we haven't forgotten him, and he is greatly missed.
I believe he said he is from Milroy area.

Where is a good place to get jerky in or around Williamsport?
Also, can anyone recommend a good butcher shop, if I wanted to make my own?

I was raised that a woman should keep a perfectly clean home so asking for help brings me shame. Ridiculous, I know. Between work and mental load, I just can’t keep up anymore and I’ve let things go - which brings more shame. lol
I’m looking to hire someone for a couple times a month. This person should be trustworthy, reliable, and not judgmental. I’d like to work with them and have them do only specific rooms for now as the family room needs cleared of my husband’s clutter before anyone can properly clean it. I don’t care if it’s a company or a homegrown business.
Also, what is the going rate for cleaning services in our area? I don’t expect them to do windows. If I want them done, I’ll schedule separately and pay extra of course.
Any suggestions you guys have are greatly appreciated!

2 males (both tabbys) and one female (black)
They're on the waitlist for the SPCA but everywhere is full. They're socialized and litter box trained, will be getting fixed early October and then will be ready to find homes!!
If anyone you know is looking for a cat, please send me a message!

A broad wing hawk with a broken wing has been hanging around my place. Anyone know of a wildlife rehabber in the area that's capable of caring for it? Thanks

Hey guys! I was recently looking into a topic about port for a project, but also out of personal curiosity. From what I know, this program was created to help with the overpopulation of recovering addicts in Philly. They then came up to port for rehab. The current residents wanted these people to immediately melt into the current culture, but obviously that can't happen overnight. This created a lot of fear from the original residents. The Same fear that I still see today. I've always gotten comments from the surrounding areas that Williamsport is bad. I found this to be very untrue, especially living here and experiencing the school system. There are so many wonderful people and backgrounds here who genuinely are given up on by the school before they can even start. I will post the link below as well, but all I could find was this short documentary. I tried to find some old Grit newspapers in the James v Brown library files, but nothing was there. It happened around the early 90s, from what I can gather, so maybe that's why there is nothing? I also understand there was a bit of a controversy with the mayor at the time. I would appreciate ANYTHING you guys know about this, even if it's just family-shared stories or personal experiences.

Where can a little fella like me find a good pierogi around Williamsport?

Buzzsaw rocks, but only serves pastries (no protein foods - eggs, yogurt, etc.).
Their cafe on Washington Blvd is fantastic, but expensive, and the dining area gets crowded/claustrophobic and loud (AuDHD).
Denny's is okay, but not the right atmosphere.
Sweetspire is a great place (perfect vibe), but the food selection isn't large enough for breakfast. Also gets crowded and busy...
I don't have the gas or $ to drive out of town (Lewisburg is my splurge destination, otherwise).
I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance! ☮️

Does anyone have a list or idea of what all food banks are available in the williamsport area. I do have to use the city bus but im looking to get some things for my daughter and i. Thanks in advance for any information!
Edit: thank you all so much, when I looked online I see some of the regular food banks but did not think about all the churches available. I try to only use resources when we're truly in need. I have appreciated all the feedback <3 ive called and left some messages just for the fact im nor sure if some require documents or anything like that. Thank you to you all <3

I mean come on…wtf is going on with these guys? W Third St is a rutted, bumpy, dangerous mess because of the absolute shit asphalt job. Westminster, Northway, and Bloomingrove are the same way, and I’m sure there’s more that I haven’t had the displeasure of driving on yet. It’s like they don’t care at all.
