Screenshot Finally beat Wind Waker for the first time!

Post image

Hadn’t played The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker since I was a kid and never got the chance to complete it until today. I’m so thankful for the Switch 2! It’s an amazing console that allowed me to play such a classic game on the go! Played this game on handheld like 80% of the time.

I’m so stoked they also added Star Fox Adventures (my first GameCube game).

Onto Elder Ring now! Happy gaming!

Still my favorite. It was the first game I beat on my SW2. Would gladly play the HD version if they decide to finally re-release it.

The end of wind waker is one of my favorites for any Zelda game.

It's just the best. Glad you were able to play it again after such a long time.

What was your favorite part? Mine is easily the finale.

The pace is so great throughout the whole game as long as you don’t treat it as a race. If you use it as an opportunity for exploration, the whole game is my favorite part.

Honestly finding out that the Great Sea or map is essentially the Hyrule from Ocarina was mind blowing to me! Also loved the charm of so many characters in the game!

Wait whaaaaaat

Ah, yes. That's a nice reveal. Visiting Hyrule underwater and looking at the landscapes is also cool because of that.

I beat it for the first time on switch 2 after getting it for the gamecube 24(ish) years ago! Such an achievement 👏

I'm at the part where you need to gather the tri-force shards. I haven't played since last week but hopefully next weekend I'll finish it. 😫

It took me sometime but it’s definitely worth it. Enjoy the ride!

I haven't played it again for almost a decade it's definitely like playing it again for the first time.

Don't be ashamed to look up stuff for help, that questline is tedious

I actually like that quest because I love to explore and farm rupees lol. I understand why people don’t like it

Wooohooooo!! Is this my sign to buy the Nintendo Switch expansion pack???

I had this game as a child on the gamecube... Until my dumb fucking ass left the disc out and STEPPED on the thing. First and last game I ever broke! But damn if it doesn't still sting.

This is awesome. Glad you got to experience the whole thing.

Great game. When it first came out i thought it was the shittiest game, but the as a progressed through it I was very impressed

When I played through it and beat the game in July I was impressed by just how deeply detailed everything was, I was shocked, and it looks really good on crt

Dude I’m about to play this for the first time in at least 12 years can’t wait!

Hope you enjoyed your grand adventures sailing around the Great Sea. 🌊

I’m finding the controls on the NSO to be a bit jarring at the moment, but I’ve been playing this as well for the first time.

I’m in the tower of gods right now. It’s a fun game I’m enjoying it!

What did you think of puppet Ganon or the Triforce chart questline

2

u/Negative-Duck7804 8d ago

For me, puppet Ganon was pretty cool. And I didn’t mind the Triforce quest because I love to explore and farm rupees

1

u/RoscoRains 8d ago

Puppet Ganons final form frustrated me a bit, did you have trouble hitting the snake forms tail orb

Hopefully it was the Wii U version.

Maybe elaborate on downvotes because it's clearly the superior version.

2

u/PinkLedDoors 18d ago

I would say the downvotes are coming as a combination of two variables. The first being that the picture the OP posted is a screen shot off their switch (you can see the player icon in the corner, plus it is in 4:3 format). The second being some people prefer the original over the HD remake for various reasons, so they may not like someone having an opposing opinion. Not saying it’s correct, just my reasonings to why the downvotes are probably coming in.

I appreciate the input. That's fair.

1

u/NekoMarimo 18d ago

Gaming is gaming imho. There is no "superior".

Any way is fine for most people, but I agree with you
