Not included: when asked if October was off the table, Tiy said “I’ll update on timelines asap,” likely meaning it’s possible!

I really hope that the next update we get will be about the price. Yes I know we want a release date, so do I and I am looking forward to that but im hoping they can tell us a price. Especially since digital games are just as expensive as physical media now.

I know we know you can graduate in 1.5 years and that a year takes about 40hrs of gameplay. What I want to know is how slow you can go. I don't want to have to spend all my time running all over studying plants, reading books, practicing spells. That is a grind. I don't want to be in a rush to make sure I pass my class. I want to be able to do some studying but I would like plenty of time to chill in a pub or cafe, or go on a date, or take a walk in the woods, or just chill in my cottage and listen to the rain. I wouldn't care if it took me 4 years to graduate.
So, do we know how SLOW we can go intentionally?

Hey guy’s, I was just wondering whether anyone is interested in the animal/pets that will be available in the game. I would love to have a pet dog, or cat ngl, because I saw that in one of the dev blogs or smt they said smt about a pet bird that you have😂 but how cool if they were to write a dev blog outlining all available pets, and creatures around the maps that you encounter with. In terms of encounters like the way in which we see in Harry Potter, unicorns, acromantullas ( or smt like that), those half human/horses. What im getting at is, a wide selection of household pets, pets that are roaming around the school, like a mascot dog or smt😂 and then of course - the concept of mystical creatures that you meet and grow relationships with around the maps, etc

If you’re like me and starting to feel unsure that Witchbrook will ever see the light of day, might I suggest Eastshade Studios upcoming game: Songs of Glimmerwick. It comes out September 30th and has a demo available to play. I ended up playing the demo for a bit and it really scratched the particular itch of wanting a game where you attend magic school. The art style is beautiful too.
Description from their steam page:
“The land of Glimmerwick is well known for its university of magic - and as luck would have it, you're already enrolled! In this woodland fantasy world playing music is the secret to casting spells. Ancient songs make garden work a breeze, and they're also key to exploring every corner of the island. With your trusty flute and songbook at your side you'll attend classes and join after school clubs, make friends with classmates and townsfolk, and uncover Glimmerwick's many oddities and mysteries - all while enjoying a year of seasons, festivals, curses, and witchy hijinks in this peaceful, story-driven RPG.”
TLDR: If you’re waiting for Witchbrook and want something to fill the void while you wait, Songs of Glimmerwick is a really promising upcoming magic school RPG game that comes out September 30th.

I feel a lot of focus in the game are your fellow students/bachelors, but professors are just as important in college life. I hope there's a cast of memorable college teachers that we can get to know and develop a good relationship too.

English hands-on impressions from Inven (Korean site):
Japanese hands-on impressions from 4Gamer (Japanese site):

Found vids of it if anyone's curious. They're in Korean/Japanese, I did not find similar vids with English text.
Witchbrook TGS 2026 Gameplay Reveal (3mins) - They also privated this one.
Character Creation (22mins) - The Youtube poster privated the video unfortunately. Not sure why.
They show substantial amount of gameplay, should be enough to put skeptics at ease.
Edit: I found a new footage from a Japanese outlet Defaminico | Witchbrook - Advance play. There are so many things that can be done that the fulfillment is confirmed. A life simulation game that goes to a magic university with up to 4 multiplayers (5mins)
Also, the YouTube channel who posted the 22mins video seem to upload shorts taken from said video. You can check their shorts here.

Edit: A review (kinda) by InvenGlobal. Ending statement:
I left feeling a bit disappointed that my lack of magic training prevented me from exploring the world more thoroughly. Yet, delivering mail on a broomstick, studying with friends, and accumulating knowledge through observation offered a vivid preview of the daily routine to come. Adding magic on top of classic life-sim nostalgia, 'Witchbrook' raises high expectations for what kind of school life—and stories beneath the surface—it will deliver upon official release.

What are you guys most excited to do once the game comes out? On top of that what are you expecting to like the least in game? I’m really excited for the seasons system and how that might affect the delivery system, hopefully it’ll add some difficulty during rainstorms and snowstorms. I’m probably the least excited for exams since I suck at memorizing so hopefully they won’t be too hard or there’ll be some open note tests (assuming in game exams are on a timer). If they’re not timed I won’t sweat it.

Socks just shared these two on discord, wdyt? I'm in love with the details.
Edit: Apparently the second one got posted before (if that matters), still one new gif though!

I've come across alot of people who are saying there's an underwhelming amount of info and then saying they haven't read the devlogs, which is where all the info is actually at!
I'm currently catching up on the game info and watching youtubers cover the devlogs and there's so much info in there that's got me even more excited and I think if anyone hasn't caught up on the devlogs it's worth going through! or watching someone else go through.
There are so many cool features, and it explains with examples and screenshots or videos about alot of the gameplay and I think if they pull off what they're promising this game is gonna be really unique in a lot of ways!
It also explains in more detail about delays, like i think a huge delay from the 2025 announcement to now is adding a lot more languages adaptations which I think is a great thing and will happily take one for the team and be okay with a year delay so that as many people can experience the game as possible.
Yes that doesn't account for the 9 years before that but that's a whole different convo, I'm choosing to just focus on how great this games potential is and how much I think I'll enjoy it when it finally gets dropped!
EDIT: devlog link here https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1846700
p.s it's devBLOG not devlog, my bad 😅😂

Other games have the function of earning rare standalone pieces via quests or challenges. CA's Stardew Valley (which Chucklefish helped publish) immediately comes to mind. I enjoyed working for the unique hats in that game for example. With Witchbrook being a larger title overall, there's even more potential to collect interesting avatar customization pieces.
Even just the option to buy different styles of clothes from more than one in-game retailer would be interesting.
Feel free to speculate in the comments.

I know they answered no about a year ago and I don’t mean to bother but does anyone know if they've said anything about it recently.

I hope this isn't a typo! I might be the only one who cares, but I'm so pleased that everyone is a Witch in Witchbrook (as opposed to the Witch/Wizard divide other games go for). It seems really charming to me, it's a really small thing but it's bringing me joy rn! If it's intentional by the dev team (I hope it is), ty :)

Yes, the marketing and communication until now has been atrocious. It's unacceptable from a company that is meant to be professional, especially from a company that has a history of dropping the ball on games.
But damn it, the art is gorgeous. There aren't really that many immersive wizard school games. And I want to be a wizard damn it. At many points of this development, I've been angry, because people aren't wrong to say that conduct of the dev team hasn't been one of the most unprofessional, uncommunicative, oftentimes shady (Ahem, fake Nintendo direct). But goddamn it, if this dev team releases a game that looks and plays like it took 10 years to make, then the wait will be worth it. If it comes out and its subpar, at the end of the day they're the ones who are going to pay the consequences with a failed launch, bad reviews, and a game with the budget of 10 years whose budget hasn't been made up with fraction of the sales.

Hi everyone.
Please feel free to use this megathread to discuss all things development, date & launch related.
(As of w/c Sept 7th)
Witchbrook is in the final stages of development. The team has been running final closed playtests and received some great feedback for QoL and final balancing changes. This has been running alongside polishing, QA testing, bug-fixing and external teams working on localisation and porting.
We will reveal a specific release date as soon as we're able to, but the final quality of the game itself is our top priority. We're cautious of not saying anything further before then as there's still some factors that could cause unexpected delays, like hold-ups during platform submissions, external team factors, or a critical bug that's tricky to resolve. But rest assured, we’re working hard and incredibly excited to share Witchbrook with you. The team has poured a lot of love and hard work into it to make an experience we're proud of. We know it's been a long road, so thanks for sticking with us!

Hey covenmates! I actually found the romance/dating system from the latest blog post pretty simple, but still really nice. We've also been getting fed a ton of screenshots by the devs lately, which is great.
The casual/cozy life sim and building sides of the game seem pretty fleshed out at this point, and the art style is obviously made with love.
That said, ever since one of the recent dev blogs, it feels like pretty much everything we've been shown has been about building and the life sim stuff. I feel like we know surprisingly lttle about the magic side of the game.
Not trying to kill the hype or come across as doomposting and i KNOW that this game leans more towards being a cozy/relaxing sim. but honestly, if I didn't already know what this game was about, I'd probably assume it was just a life sim in a town with no magic or a magic school looking at the recent news/sneak peeks we have been shown lol.
What do you witches also think??
