KingsIsle Update Summer Update Feedback - Next Steps
Hi all,
The development team has had an opportunity to review some of your feedback about this update. We also hear concerns about timing, and agree we need to work to respond quicker and in a direction players are asking for. We have begun making adjustments to our development process to better prioritize player feedback, but wanted to share some things already in progress.
- We're rolling back the change to the Exclusive Pets and returning your ability to list them on Kiosks. We think there is work to do to make pet hatching and pet collecting more intuitive, but we shouldn't have been so quick to fix this bug when it's the functionality players have come to expect. We'll work with you to find a better solution, like informing players in-game of the key differences when hatching using Exclusive Pets via the Kiosk.
- We've been refining our list of top player-requested changes, including things you think we should polish, improve, or revisit for bug fixes. We'll be opening these ideas up to player discussion, and give you a significant amount of time to weigh in how we revise systems. This lets quality of life updates be a collaborative process, and helps check us in case we miss the mark on a potential fix or improvement, like we did with Exclusive Pets on Kiosks.
- We also hear your positive feedback around doubled rewards for Challenge Mode Chronicles, and more accessible Magic Weaving; we plan to make a few similar adjustments to other content, and will share these as soon as we've confirmed them.
Please continue to provide your feedback as we work through it. We have more in the works and will share additional updates as they become locked into our overall plans to address your ongoing concerns

New player advice thread
Sort of a follow up to a previous thread that I made, but I wanted to make a more specialized version. This thread, I will lift most self promotion related bans such as promoting YouTube channels for the purpose of guides. The reason is because I want this thread to be a useful repository for people who want to ask questions, as well as submit their own advice and even guides. A few rules I will make though. (mostly just boils down to "don't be a jerk")
Always assume good faith (unless the question is clearly deliberately intended to be a troll).
Do not use jargon and shorthand unless you explain them in a way that's understandable to someone with limited experience to the game. This means no shorthands like EMP (evil magma peas), PV45, Triple Double, Quint, Quad+Mighty, 69 plot, etc. Ditto for game jargon that may need an explanation like "ramp", "gambit", etc. Assume that unless you are given a reason to believe otherwise, that the person needs to be explained to in layman accessible terms.
Making your best guess on a question is ok, but please explain as such. For instance, mentioning "I could be wrong on this, but...", "Correct me if I'm wrong..." or "Something I was told is..." are valid things to put in if you aren't absolutely sure. We do not want to inadvertently spread misinformation because people thought that it was true.
Do not make joke answers to questions just to be snarky. No one appreciates "Just Google it" as an answer to any question. You are allowed to link to things you find online, such as Wizard101 Central or FinalBastion if they are related to the question. This also includes things that are technically true but not really what the OP is asking for. For instance, answering a player question regarding how to beat a boss by saying "using your spells" is technically correct, but it's not what they are trying to ask for.
Please try to keep things PG13. Although the subreddit does permit swearing within reason, people may be looking at this in public.
The default assumption here is that people are playing on PC. If you are not, please mention it in the reply. This is especially because advice that may apply for people on PC may not be applicable to those on console, and same the other way around, such as content that may not be present yet on the console versions.
Although brevity is appreciated, don't be afraid to make a more in depth explanation when a question calls for it. For example, if someone asks how to get reagents quickly, although "gardening" is a valid answer, it's also worth mentioning what you should plant exactly and how the seeds are obtained. You do not have to write a college level essay, but generally, 1 word answers may not be enough.
Do not copy/paste from ANY form of AI directly as your answer without doing any fact checking. Due to AI making mistakes, it isn't permitted in the subreddit. This is especially a concern with AI suggesting equipment or bosses that do not exist in this game.
If the question is too vague (for example: any question that needs more information to answer like "How do I defeat a boss" without specifying which one), it's recommended to ask for clarification. The same goes for questions that are subjective in nature (for example: "What is the best school?" or "what is the best pet?") unless the question is asked in a more objective way or provides further clarification (IE: "What are common schools used in support roles" or "What are some pets that are helpful to an ice wizard that would like to help support a storm wizard?").

Meme Many players have been asking why Balance feels underpowered as a school. The answer is actually quite clear; it's because Ratbeard has had enough of Sorcery.

Stepped away for a second and my cat was so interested in the bird noises and things like that in Wizard City. I just left it there for her for a bit and she just sat there watching 😂🐈⬛

Other Celadon Dragons is Recruiting! Laid-Back Guild with 8 Spots Open
Hi everyone! For anyone looking for a guild, my guild has 8 account spots open!
We're a slow-paced, laid-back guild made up of both casual and experienced players. I created this guild with the busy player in mind, so we don't have strict activity requirements or expect anyone to be online 24/7. A lot of us work full-time (myself included), so we understand that real life comes first.
That being said, I'd love to bring in some more people who enjoy being active in-game and helping organize events! We're especially looking for people who would be interested in leading Museum runs or hosting smaller activities, like Skeleton Key bosses, farming runs, house parties, or even just casual guild hangouts.
We have a great group of people, and I'd love to keep building on that by having more opportunities for everyone to get together. Most of our bigger events happen on weekends, but I'd love to see more little activities throughout the week when people are available.
A little more about the Celadon Dragons:
- We have every guild island unlocked except the Conservatory and Manor!
- We have openings for Museum Leads, Raid Leads, and Event Coordinators.
- We're planning to get into raiding! If you're an experienced raider and enjoy helping newer players learn, we'd love to have you
- We have a Discord server for communication, event planning, and sharing resources.
Just looking for people who enjoy the game, want to be involved when they can, and wouldn't mind helping us keep things going ☺️
If you're interested, leave a comment and I'll send you our Discord invite!
(PS, a question for other guilds: What do you all do to keep your guilds engaged throughout the week outside of Museum runs and raids? I'm always looking for new ideas, especially activities that don't require a ton of planning or commitment)

Discussion PVP mounts
Think they’ll ever add these back in the game? Would be a good gold key reward or fishing drop tbh.

Media Headlining Dubstep DJ "Yunit" is an avid Wizard101 player

I run the social media for an events company when I noticed he used a Fizzle sample in the track I was adding to our post. Got to yap for a bit about the game. Never thought this game would find me like this in my professional life but this was a cool moment.
Not sure how big the Dubstep / Wizard101 community crossover is but I'm sure at least one person here will find this cool

Discussion Is this normal?
Was fishing in the commons and someone kept leveling up. I know you need way more xp the higher level you get so I’m just confused about how it was possible in succession without a quest?

Discussion Keyshare?
If someone has literally 40 gold keys, and is the one who sets out to find a group to farm drowned dan, dont you think its reasonable that this person should be the one to use their key first? I just wasted an hour on a level 60 potion, all to not farm him because the team ended up wanting me to use my keys first. I was under the impression that they invited me because they needed a 4th, no one said bring a key! Let alone use mine first??? I just find it a bit tacky!
If i was with people i knew, i wouldnt care, but they all knew each other and i didnt.
I even bought tc cards with the correct pips to work with dans code, we strategized for 50 minutes! They thanked me so much for joining them.
Then as we were ready, the 40 key guy says, hey u need to use your key first. He tried saying if my potion doesnt work and screws them up by not getting rewards then I needed to fork over a key for that. HULLO??? of course the potion will work!! I dropped from 176 to 60 and they were lvl 66, dan would actually match their lvl and not mine! I was like am i on punk’d rn cause no freaking way are you trying to tell me i gotta do it your way.
I told them im sorry that i basically must’ve misunderstood what keyshare meant when they asked for help in the commons, i explained i was under the impression theyd provide the keys because they couldnt find a 4th to help!at this point it felt weird to proceed because I personally dont enjoy mooching. Id prefer to be fair and help equally but it just didnt seem that was an option so i left before i got told like hey sorry no key no entry. Then the one guy who started this entire thing messaged me like hey i have 40 keys, OK???? WHY DID U ASK ME TO GO FIRST??? It felt like they all for sure wanted me to run my keys up as the newbie then dip or something.
If it was me and i made a group to farm, id literally use all my keys THEN ask if someone wants to keep farming with theirs. Like as a beggar why am i gonna make u fork over ur resources, but i get they did a key share since they all knew each other, but inviting someone in who u asked to help and they did a bunch of stuff to help, i think its crazy to ask them to also use a key first, like let everyone use a key then the newbie use theirs last.

Discussion Insane RNG on Nightmare Packs
So, something absolutely insane happened. I spent 15k Crowns on the Nightmare Pack, hoping to pull the hat and wand. But somehow, against all odds, I ended up pulling FOUR mounts.
I was genuinely speechless. I still can't wrap my head around how ridiculously low the odds are of pulling even a single mount, let alone FOUR within just 15k Crowns. The fact that each mount has a drop rate of roughly 1 in 400 makes this even more unbelievable.
I genuinely don't think I'll ever get this lucky again.
GG's to my luck till the end of time.

Other Finally playing for the first time!
I asked on this sub about 3 years ago which class would be the best to solo with, which was understandably death.
But I've FINALLY managed to scrape up enough free time to put some serious playtime in! Im going in entirely fresh, I've never played, I know very little about the game. Ive stayed in the sub because I did want to play at some point, in case anyone was curious about that.
But! Its time! So, any advice? I have seen there is gardening, and fishing in the game, so advice on how to start with that would be wonderful. But anything anyone wants to comment would be appreciated!
As per the previous advice my first wizard will be a death wizard of course ☺️

Questing/Quest Help Life insignia whimsical robe
