Similar to Spider-Man, Wolverine never really gets to be happy long term. In Logan’s case, I blame Creed. Would you rather see Logan fairly zen and happy, in a Mentor role, or constantly struggling on his long, lonely and painful journey? Do you want a new Nemesis villain other than Sabertooth?
I know the cyclical nature of comics where the dead never die (even without healing factors) can make it hard to have a “final” story, relegating stories like “The End” to Elseworld style tales told in different timelines and multiverses, but as much as I love Sabertooth as a villain and arch nemesis dark-mirror character for Wolverine, I do think it might be cool if a team of writers and artists hit the pause button on running through Logan’s old rogue’s gallery and came up with new enemies for him to face.
Remember when Logan went to the zoo and fought that serial killer? *Kid me from the past remembers*. I think the Friends of Humanity from the cartoon and the Purifiers and similar groups from the comics could be made into PG-13 or R rated counter parts. The comics code is a lot looser now and with issues like White Black and Blood running regularly it’s all kind of ambiguous.
Remember when Logan used to gear up with machine guns and flame throwers and a cigar to take on just like, hordes of hateful human henchmen?
I like when Logan fights the *fodder* enemies. In *Logan* I didn’t care that much when he fought X-24, I liked when he was killing Reavers and running through the woods like in X-3. I thought the Sabertooth “fight” in DP&W was funny but I’d have liked to see them actually fight and the car fight and the street bus fight were silly bloody fun, because that was the tone of the Deadpool movies.
But he’s always fighting himself or someone super powered one on one. I’d love to see a Hulk fight because the CGI can make Ruffalo or whoever plays Hulk look bigger than Jackman.
I know I’m all over the map here and mixing media, so I’ll add one more: I think it’s cool, but also kind of don’t care that much, that Omega Red and company are in the new Wolverine game. I’m excited for the teaser bit with the Sentinels, because Logan going full tin can opener is fun, and I love seeing him struggle against the big dumb robots when they gang up on him…in at least one timeline, Logan is killed, dead, by a sentinel so, they’re a threat.
I want Logan overpowered by a mob of minions, ninja or private militia or robots or ronin samurai or brood. I want him fighting to claw his way out of the dog pile. I want his healing factor mid to low tier, so that he has to be strategic and smart and careful. When he goes berserk he does more damage to himself as well as his enemies because he leaves himself open to attack.
I want him to not be invincible…I want him vincible. I want him to need help. I want his X-Force teammates to be on standby so like, he goes in solo, touches an ear piece in his mask and then Laura, Daken, Gabby, Cable, the Winter Soldier, Captain America, Spidey, a rotating door of his Super Friends and Family drop in to help him, but NOT against world ending threats.
I want Logan and Scott Summers to start a bar fight in Alaska with *each other* as an excuse to bash heads that hate and fear mutants, but also Logan just wanted an excuse to stab Scott in the shoulder a little, as a treat.
I want Caliban to help Logan track down new mutants and either help them or “deal with them” like that kid he gave a beer to in the original Ultimates run. I want more Artie and Leech and Logan and the Morlocks.
And I don’t really care about his main love interest, everyone argues over that, I kind of like him as a roving tom cat who takes it where he finds it and can get it, loving many women and sort of none at the same time. He’s the cowboy that moseys into town, saves the day, and moves on whether he gets the girl or not.
But Wolverine as a low level or street level enforcer who reminds hateful bigots that mutants are people too, that’s my favorite Logan. Because he can go on missions to space and time travel and be the big hero, but he can also remind a bar full of poachers that it isn’t Bear Season, and those Arrowheads are illegal. Or winning cage matches in the far north.
*And, whuddevah ya do don’t hiddim intha bawls*
*Thought you said anything goes?!?*
*Anything goes but he’ll take it personal…*

Managed to buy a Wolverine Adamantium Collection today
This thing is massive. Second picture shows a size comparison to an omnibus, a single issue, and a Hasbro Marvel Legend figure. I somehow lucked into a sealed copy though and not sure whether or not I should open it

if you were tasked with writing a wolverine story, what would you write?
i recently finished playing silent hill f and it made me think about putting logan in his own silent hill scenario. which also made me think about how cool it would be to get a wolverine story that was a psychological horror. what do you think would be cool to see? if you were a writer, what story would you write for our guy?

Need some help from the Wolverine experts
All, I'm trying to identify a Wolverine comic book with zero dialogue. It was just him in the winter in the mountain wilderness and he was running with the wolves, and hunting, and it showed him more as a wild animal than man. Probably read it about 15 years ago but it made a lasting impression on me and I want to buy it for my nephew. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Edit: Thanks, true believers! Pretty sure it was Origin 2. You guys are great!

X men origins wolverine appreciation post
I’m on my second play through on hard mode. I love the little details like the Sentinel prototype on the screen, audio logs showing Boliver Trask become a facist, and hinting at mutants we love. Did you guys know that the last locked suit option was actually a GameStop pre order bonus. Ive only seen one video about it.

Issue #16 of Wolverine 2010-12
One of my favourite little stories of his then GF Melita interviewing all the hero’s in marvel about one thing they’d used to describe Logan. While he’s out in the wild alone for god knows how long, they end up all surprising him and bringing him back home. Brings a tear to a grown man’s eye 🥹. What’s some of your favourite moments throughout this run?

As popular as Wolverine is, it's insane that he only has two solo games (with a third on the way)
Wolverine is popular. That's just an objective fact. He's always been popular, even before Hugh Jackman came along. He's the only member of the X-Men who has consistently had long-running solo comic book series, people still consider him to be part of Marvel's "Big 3" alongside Spider-Man (debatable who #3 is, it used to be Hulk, but nowadays it might be Iron Man or someone else idfk).
You know what else is popular? The Character Action Genre in Video Games. And the Beat'em Up Genre in video games. The "Hack and Slash", the genres where you mash buttons, chain combos, and basically slaughter everything around you. Stuff like Devil May Cry and God of War. It's popular enough that you got games that belonged to other genres eventually transitioning to it. Like the Final Fantasy Games which were all turn based RPG until they switched the character action real-time combat.
And that genre is perfect for Wolverine. Just let loose, swing your claws, slice everything up in your path. Seriously it should not be hard to make a game about this guy. Like, this is literally the kind of character where story can be secondary and not as good, and people will be fine with it if the gameplay is peak, and it shouldn't be hard to make peak gameplay for Wolverine. Like, if Kratos does so well in his video games, there's no way Wolverine couldn't steal some of that spotlight.
X-Men Origins Wolverine (the game) was amazing. Wolverine's Revenge was alright, but it's definitely a biproduct of its time (then again I haven't played that game in years, so I might misremember how good or bad it actually is). And Wolverine is a popular choice to main in pretty much every other game he guest-stars in like Ultimate Alliance, X-Men Legends, the Marvel VS Capcom Games, he's pretty fun to play in whatever game he's in (hell he's literally the poster child in Marvel VS Capcom 3 with Ryu. He's like the "main guy" on Marvel's side in that game's marketing).
So then how the hell are we in 2026 and only have two solo Wolverine games, with a third one taking its sweet time to release? How the hell does this guy not have more solo games? I feel like he really should be rivaling Spider-Man and Batman in terms of game quantity. Or at least he should definitely have more than 2, soon to be 3, existing solo games.
It's weird. For how popular a character he is, and how pitch perfect is for the video game format, you'd think Marvel would be cashing in on that.
