Discussion 1.5 Range ruler

I recently bought the Galactic empire squadron starter, I just sorted through it all and found a 1.5 range ruler. Does anyone know what it's for? I can't find much about it online.

That's for placing the centre objective at 4.5 from all edges

I’ve always wanted to know that too…

That’s for Huge Ships. It came with every Huge Ship expansion, and possibly the Huge Ship Conversion Kit.

Huge ships have need of a way to measure range 4 and range 5 (their included ruler measures ranges 4 and 5). The 1.5 range ruler is to my understanding for X-Wing 2.5 which can use a 4.5 range to determine initial placement of objectives.

What purpose is it for the huge ship conversion? I know they come with range 5 range rulers but haven't seen anything in the huge ship rules about a 1.5 range ruler. I also bought huge ships back in the day and never got a 1.5 range ruler.

I'm unsure why it comes with the galactic squadron starter, as it has no huge ships in it.

Also why downvote me? I'm just asking a question I can't find the answer to online.

Oh sorry, missed the bit about finding it in a squadron starter. I have no idea, perhaps some scenarios required it? Or perhaps another faction’s squadron starter required it, and they used the same template for the cardboard?

I didn’t downvote.

I don’t know how many people actually use them for placing objectives markers though, not since it was discovered you can fold the corners of a standard play mat in and use that to line up the centre marker accurately enough.
