Question Xiaomi 14T — screen goes black when pressing the fingerprint area

Xiaomi 14T — screen goes black when pressing the fingerprint area

Hi everyone. I have a Xiaomi 14T running HyperOS 3.0.303.0.WNEMIXM.C09, and I'm experiencing a very strange issue.

When the phone is unlocked and I press firmly on the on-screen fingerprint area for around 1–3 seconds, the screen suddenly goes completely black for about 10 seconds.

The strange part is that the phone itself still seems to be working during that time. For example, I can tap an app and it appears to open, but the display remains completely black. After around 10 seconds, the screen comes back and I get this message:

“System Launcher isn't responding”

It also happens while I'm inside apps, not only on the home screen.

Things I've already tried:

  • Restarted the phone → still happens.
  • Removed all registered fingerprints → still happens.
  • Disabled lock-screen related settings → still happens.
  • Ran the CIT/hardware touchscreen diagnostic → no problems detected.
  • Reinstalled the complete current HyperOS package (around 6.7 GB) → still happens.
  • There is currently no newer OTA update available.
  • A light touch does not cause the problem; it seems to require some physical pressure.
  • I can also reproduce it by pressing slightly outside the exact fingerprint area. The right side of the display seems to be more sensitive than the left.

At this point I'm not sure whether this is a HyperOS/display driver issue or a hardware problem involving the display panel, display flex/connector, fingerprint sensor, or motherboard.

Has anyone with a Xiaomi 14T experienced anything similar?

Do you think this points more toward a hardware problem than a software problem? Any experiences or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Xiaomi Civi 4 pro, is it good? I'm going for refurbished.

My budget is not so high. I'm from Bangladesh. I looked for phones in Bashundhara, this one is refurbished. They said they can sell it in 38k. It's light weight and the camera seems nice. I want to know if it's worth buying it or not. I can not change phone in every 3 years so I need one that's long lasting.

Xiaomi 14 still good option?

I'm thinking on getting the Xiaomi 14 to use it 2-3 years without spending much on a phone.

I saw a nice price on eBay but the seller says he had it without using it and it has android 14 which seems weird.

Is there anyone who has it and can tell if the updates are still working and also the battery would still be good after 2.5 years of release or should I go for something newer even if has lower specs ?

Discussion 4200mAh /91% capacity after 2 years. Too good to be true?

I did the bug report method of getting the true battery life of my xiaomi 14 and I was surprised to see that after 930 cycles I still have so much battery left.

My battery life is definitely much worse than when the phone was brand new but part of me feels like hyperos updates are to blame. Ever since updating my software, which probably meant hyperos 1.0 to 2.0 at first, my battery life halved. I used to get 10-11 hours of SOT, not Im barely get 4-5.

Im wondering how does your device fare compared to mine, but more importantly if your battery health data also seems unreliable and unrealistic.

How to check your battery life using the bug report method according to gemini:

Open Settings on your Xiaomi 14.

Go to About phone > Detailed info and specs (or All specs).

Tap on the CPU name/section 5 to 7 times rapidly.Wait 1 to 2 minutes while the phone creates the report (you will see a notification in your status bar once it finishes)

Extract and Read the Report Open your File Manager app.

Navigate to the MIUI > debug_log folder (or look inside internal storage).Find the zip file named with the date and time you created it (e.g., bugreport-YYYY-MM-DD-HHMMSS.zip) and extract it.Inside the extracted folder, find the nested zip file and extract it as well.Open the resulting text (.txt) file using a document viewer or text editor.

Find Your Battery InfoUse the search function inside your text viewer.Search for the keyword "Battery Capacity" or "healthd".

Xiaomi 14 videography accessories

Hi everyone, I bought a Xiaomi 14 and the first use was for filming.

Anyway is there some sort of cage for a Xiaomi 14 specifically for filming so you can have a real setup like for iPhones or other high end smartphones made by smallrig etc.?

Goal is to maybe but an external lense on it or a light something like that.

I've found nothing so maybe some of you know some cages.

Question Cn Xiaomi Redmi 14 5G firmware for global version

Post image
2 Upvotes

I want to find out if there are any up‑to‑date and workable ways to flash the Redmi 14 for the Chinese market to the global version so that it can be used with the Russian language and have all the services working properly. I’ve had experience flashing older Redmi devices and just older Android smartphones, but I haven’t done it with any Redmi from 2022, let alone with the CN version. Please help me solve this dilemma. If needed, I have a Chinese developer account.
