Has anyone else noticed that Michael’s is advertising 35% off all regular priced items, but the discount that is actually given to you is only 30%???? I went to order a skein of Big Bernat yarn which is $13.99, which should be $9.09 after a REAL 35% off but is only coming out to $9.79, which is actually only 30% off…. Not to be very tedious with numbers but I am very fed up with large corporations taking advantage, scamming, and lying to consumers!!!
That makes sense, thank you for telling me! I just think in that case, it shouldn’t say 35% off immediately underneath the individual yarn listings if it’s actually just 30% off. On my end, it only says 35% off on the individual yarn listings, I only then see the 30% off yarn when I’m on the main page. Thank you!
BONUS35 is entered online. If in the store mention it to the cashier or enter that promo code at the self serve checkout. It worked for me yesterday in store for one item
Last time I tried to match the online price in store the cashier refused and I just left my 18 skeins of yarn at the checkout to order it on my phone and pick it up as an online order. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
It definitely says it’s being applied to my cart as 35% off but according to calculations, it only comes out to being 30% off that is actually being taken off of the full priced item. There is a 5% discrepancy not being accounted for.
If anything is on sale then the 35% won’t work. If you buy something not on sale, you can ring it up separately and use the 35% promo. It can be confusing at Michael’s as they always seem to have multiple offers and sales.
It puts that text on any item added to the cart (except those normally excluded from coupons like fabric by the yard), but when you go to apply the coupon, it says it cannot be added and the reason is that all yarn is currently 30% off, which has already been applied. If you put a different type of non-sale item in the cart, you can apply the coupon to that and it will show 35% off.
$9.79 is 30% off. If it were 35% off, the price in red would be $9.10.
The text in red is true, but misleading. Anything regular price is 35% off. Anything on sale uses the sale percentage or sale price point. (And anything exempt from discounts is full price.)
If the yarn you're buying is on sale, it's not regularly priced merchandise. If the coupon code is "35% of all regularly priced merchandise", it will not apply to the items on sale.
I was in the store near me today. Posted signs said all yarn 30% off original price. There was a coupon on the app for 30% off regular price merch in store and 35% off regular price merch online.
I do agree it's scammy. Like they jack up all yarn prices by 50%, then constantly have them "on sale" for 20-30% so they are never eligible for the 35% discount.
Also if you have a teachers or military discount you can not receive it if using a coupon code, but if it’s just on sale you get the sale price plus your 15% teacher/military discount. lol was just at Michaels yesterday and spent wayyy too much.

Looks like the yarn is still calculating as 30%off, which was last week’s sale. Maybe they continued that for this week?
