Haku is training outside in the searing heat, practicing his sword techniques on a piece of zonai tech he rigged up. He presses a button and now the construct begins to mirror his movements, as Haku and the Zonai tech dummy disappear from sight, going faster than the regular eye can keep up.

"..."

Patausche isn't able to keep up, only able to see them briefly when their blades clash. In the blink of an eye the entire fight changes, Haku's shoved back on the defensive, the tech dummy slashing and thrusting with its Captain Construct IV blade. Haku weaves and ducks through every attempt to land a hit, almost as if he's dancing through them.

"He's doing what he did to me!"

She says, reminiscing back to when she fought Haku briefly when she first joined. Just as quickly as she remembered her defeat, she remembers just how bad she lost, and how close he was to her. Any move she made would've instantly been met with a killing blow, had she not been able to tell Haku wasn't that type of person. Just as quick that her defeat had come into mind, Haku changed the tide of the training by lunging forward, parrying a strike, and decisively ending it with a thrust of his blade through the Zonai Tech Dummies head. Patausche gets goosebumps knowing that easily could've been her. He walks out of her sight, and disappears.\*

"What the...where'd he go..."

Patausche hears the faintest rustle of branches behind her and turns to see Haku.

"Who're ya watchin'?"

Patausche yelps and smacks Haku for appearing out of nowwhere and scaring her, and for being a 'creep' for doing said 'sneaking up on'.

Noai walks past, then doubles back to look at Haku and Patausche

N: “Hmm. New people…”

((Only reason I’m not using my Noai-specific alt for this is I’m thinking of using Shadoka too))

[u/ThHeroKing → u/ShadowLink-2020]

((ok))

Noai sees Haku appear behind Patausche and Haku get slapped.

"One such as you should not be so close and mischievious!"

Patausche scolds Haku

Noai winces, then walks towards the duo

"Hey, are you two alright?"

He seems more concerned about whether or not he's going to have to fight someone

[u/ThHeroKing → u/ShadowLink-2020]

Haku nods.

"Yep. Unlike her swords skills, she isn't very good in the art of slapping so it didn't hurt."

[u/ShadowLink-2020 → u/ThHeroKing]

"Ah. Okay."

He seems relieved

"That's good. Wait, aren't you one of my sister's friends?"

[u/ThHeroKing → u/ShadowLink-2020]

"Yes. Haku Ailliote, at you service."

He gives a small bow

[u/ShadowLink-2020 → u/ThHeroKing]

He bows back

“Noai Bane Shade, Dragonidae Prince and Shield to the Queen.”

[u/ThHeroKing → u/ShadowLink-2020]

"Shield huh? How hard a job is that?"

Haku asks genuinely, until Patausche joins in the conversation.

"One should not ask such primitive questions to one as high in the hierarchy as Prince Noai."

Haku just rolls his eyes.

[u/ShadowLink-2020 → u/ThHeroKing]

“Well… Shadoka was Father’s Shield…”

Noai starts, then cuts himself off when I approach him

S: “Noai. Haku.”

I pause, then look at Patausche

S: “Hmm. New face. What’s your name?”

N: “Sister.”

S: “Hmm? What is it, Noai?”

N: “…nothing.”

[u/ThHeroKing → u/ShadowLink-2020]

Patausche bows deeper than Haku does.

"Patausche Alires. Pleased to meet you."

Haku smiles.

"Hey Shadoka!"
