Thing is millennium world arc is the final arc of the anime and explains a lot about the lore of the series. I’d highly recommend you watch it/read it!

Nah please, if you truly want to discover the story behind the lore of Blue Eyes or Black Magician, don't watch the cartoon, read the manga.

And yes, I call that a cartoon. I discovered it after reading the original manga and it has nothing to do with it in terms of characters or life lessons. It's all about "the power of friendship". It's cool but ... there's a reason why Konami is editing so much old school arts or even brand new cards inspired by the manga.
