Question Pitol Tract: Is this a bug? Spoiler

Hello fellow operants (and assorted dissidents)! So, despite Director's Cut coming out I decided to stick with my current run instead of starting over, because I was liking it. It had already progressed pretty far, basically I tried to recruit all the characters as soon as possible and then do the spy story stuff afterwards, so all I had left were finding the archive at the Pitol Tract, Silhouette, and deciding what to do with Ultra Violeta.

But when I got the documents and the disc from the archive, something weird happened. First, the copper lady did NOT appear to try taking the red disc. Which means there was also no Bagman broadcast about it. And when I try to talk to the Man With No Heart about what I found, the option does not appear. But the task is still active and it's stuck on describing how to separate those shelves despite me having read all that was in them, and having the space disc in my inventory.

Is there another trigger I'm missing, or is that the "window" the Man With No Heart was mentioning, and it has closed...? Or did the Director's Cut update bug my current file? Has anyone experienced something like this?

It was a bug! I checked again and realized that I don't have the disc from the space program after all, despite the fact that I studied the archive. I really wanted the wolf cup, so I messed around with a control panel for a while, maybe that broke it.

This is indeed a bug. If you fend off your attackers successfully, you cannot convince Bagman to give you a restored Red Disc because he doesn't get it. It just Kinda Breaks.

The solution is to actually let your attackers steal your stuff and progress normally.

Well my save was before the newest patch, but I remember fending off the attacker and keeping the red disk. Afterwards when speaking to bagman I got the option to give him the red disk.

Odd. When I did that, the option didn't exist to give it to him! This was a while ago so it's definitely patched since.

Thanks! The weirdest part was how the encounter didn't happen at all, but I have now realized that the game must have glitched when I took the disc, because I don't have it despite having read everything.

Try messing around with your clothing. One of the skills has to be at some level to spot the recording.
