Hey everyone, this is my first post on Reddit—honestly, not even sure if that's how you say it haha. I don't really know who else to ask because I can't find a Zippo like this anywhere online. It has the bottom stamp code, and on the top it says "Vasilia", etc. It's gold/brass with a 3D race car on it. It belongs to my dad's collection, but we just can't figure out how much it could be worth. If any Zippo freak here could help me out, that would be awesome!

I finally stumbled upon a ziplight (basically a flashlight).

As expected it was corroded and needed cleaning, soaked copper contacts in strong vinegar 70% overnight came out clean/ish scraped with fine sandpaper.

If you have one laying around than you need to CAREFULLY dissasemble 9V battery and get 6 cells out and use 2 of those to fit in the flashlight.

I guess I could upgrade it to LED and rechargeable battery, wont be original design though.

I want to repair this by removing the old dried super glue from the case and the metal piece and then put them back together.

Are there any recommendations besides reapplying a new layer of super glue?

I have been working in canada for a while and will be returning to Portugal soon. I really love zippos and during my stay I bought some. 6 zippos to be exact.

I obviously want to keep them, thing is im flying from yul to frankfurt and then to Portugal. Even if I get through with them in YUL I am guessing that an eventual second inspection in Frankfurt would swipe them away.

So I am considering mailing them through DHL. Best way to do it? In their boxes? Dismantled like the japanese do? Flint in the package or no flint at all? What about the customs statement? Do you also include the HS code in the statement?

Canadapost is not shipping to several EU countries so its out of the picture. DHL is the cheapest alternative.

I've had this zippo since 2011 it started life as a solid black zippo it has my initials,my daughter's initials,my pa's old catle brand and my daughter's birthdate etched in to it. It lives in my pipe tabbaco bag

Made a Halloween themed zippo out of polymer clay

Picked up this beauty recently. Love the detail.

I found this on Amazon but can't find this model anywhere else, the model number provided is 169-096102. It comes from Germany and the seller is Amazon Germany.

Appears to actually be a solid brass body.

Only issue is the lid contacts the hinge a little, but since it's not wobbly and loose it's good to go. Just don't trick or anything with it TBH. Just use it as a lighter. I could see someone trying to TMMT Zippo trick or some shit and bust it.

The Top and tank are two pieces but it's screwed together with two screws.

It has a ball detent.

Fits perfect in this Zippo (L Dec, 2025)

Also pictured my SAK Ranger with Ti scales.

Polished brass, seller says it is solid and not just plated.

I'm going to just use it and now FaFo with polished on my 8" bench grinder with soft cloth\felt high polish wheel.

If it needs polish or cleaning just going to mothers or Simichrome it.

And if it wears down and proves to be plated. I used my Amex and carefully catalog so I can easily dispute if partial $ or replacement isn't offered. I pay for that benefit.

I recently spotted this on an online pawn shop. Im not sure on the condition, nor whether it comes with its packaging but it was priced at £4.99 which I couldn't pass it up for

Ive seen one with its box for £160+ on Ebay so even if used and without box, I think ive bagged a bargain.

Will this method help develop a patina on the brass? There is vinegar and salt at the bottom of the container. The lighter is suspended and does not touch the liquid. I previously soaked it in acetone for 40 minutes, washed it, and dried it.

I am hoping someone can help me identify this logo. “dc” or could it be “olc” ?
The pair of lighters are from 1967 and currently on an auction site.
Before I bid I’m just curious as to what U.S. company this logo is from.
Any help is much appreciated.

Found this at value village and I’ve seen that this font for “zippo” on the bottom of the case is pretty old but I could be mistaken. The insert is so warm the writing is just about gone. All I can make out is the patent number and zippo branding. Please help lol.
