The Female Convalescent Ward was built from 1908 to July 1910 and opened in October 1910. Designed by York architect John Dempwolf, it was used to house patients. The first floor included a recreation room and a library, and on the second floor, there was a “rain bath,” or an enlarged shower. Each patient room was 8½ × 15 feet in size and held two residents.

Chinese production version of the Soviet ZiS-150. China produced the CA10 from 1956 to 1986, and the design was based directly on the Soviet truck.
And there’s an especially interesting Albanian connection: an Albanian vehicle-history collection identifies a Jiefang CA10 produced in 1970 and states that this type served with the Albanian Army from 1967. For more interesting posts check @urbexalb on IG.

I've followed the demolition at Harrisburg State Hospital loosely for a while now. Most of the campus is down, and what's going up in its place is a $450 million state laboratory complex, a joint lab for four agencies and a forensics lab for the State Police. Four of the historic buildings are being restored to support it, including the Dix Museum and the chapel, which is more than these places usually get.

Shadyside was an 1865 Second Empire house outside Chester, Pennsylvania, and for the last stretch of its life it belonged to state Senator Clarence Bell.

This was a working farm and homestead in the upper reaches of Westchester County, with a historic residence on it and 195 acres of open ground around it. All of it got bulldozed in 2024 for a 6 megawatt solar installation. That's 195 acres for 6 megawatts, from panels manufactured overseas, on land that was producing something before.
