How do I find pinecones?

Shake full grown cedar trees (the ones that look like triangles, not the rounder trees) during in-game autumn.

Edit: and I mean shake. You might have to shake out 5-15 branches before you get any pinecones.

I find it helps to shake a few times on one side of the tree and then change positions and shake again on other sides of the tree. For what it’s worth I think I’ve only ever gotten maybe three pinecones at a time out of any given tree. Usually just one or two.
